If they have Donkey Men I am going to name mine Tijuana, he will be a monk, and he will live in a bar.... where you can brawl with him.... Oh god... I would laugh all night.

A bit on the thin side there bro... they look like tortillas, nothing wrong with a breakfast burrito though.

RE: Suggestion ingame pub
During my "research" I found that while playing "Lets take this girl home" at the bar, there were multiple paths that lead one to a brawl. You might insult, or be doing very well but find out she already has a date, or the girl next to her that heard your entire line is her date. Fight, Fight, fight. Its fun to win, sucks to lose and better to talk yourself out of it. Also the other game that is played latter ... the "I can drink more than you" game also has a high chance of getting into random fights, some even get to start with you on your knees puking your guts out on their date... or so I am told, that last shot of Aftershock is all I remember with any clarity. I keep checking to see if I am on the news.... so far so good. I gained some experience, raised my faction with "BarFlies" and only took minor damage. It was rather costly, catching a buzz was cheap, the drinks for the gals got pricey but the "I can drink more than you" game wrecked me. Its for science... its for game development.... Its for you guys!

Loot vs. Skill
When it comes down to it skill is always a factor in any game. The real question will loot and its levels be just as important? I would say a game such as Diablo requires equal parts skill and gear to be effective. Other games such as WoW you can say that gear not skill opens more doors... definitely closes them if your gear is poor. How will this game treat gear? Will higher level skills be more rare than unique weapons? The original vanilla EverQuest you needed to kill world dragons to get top level spells. Would you like to see stuff like this?

Instance dungeons are kinda cheating. I would say that only 10% of all dungeons should be instanced and that should only be the end boss. A fully populated dungeon makes people be social even if it isn't 100% advantageous it makes the game feel more alive. Killing a end boss should be a big thing, so killing a boss should only be allowed 1 time a week for each boss. Attempts should be limited as well, three attempts per week. Back when Everquest was going super strong I loved the extra excitement that random social encounters brought, and games like WoW lost that aspect 100% and it is sorely missed.
It's not cheating, and I don't get why you say so. Givin the chance to kill the whole dungeon to a small group is way better than an open dungeon cleared h24, with 300-500players running around trying to find 1-2 mobs or boss camper spwon trying to zerg it and steal eachother. Dungeons shoud be no attempt limited, Raids should be 1 clear per week. Instanced thing are good to avoid pvp while doing pve. You can fully focus on one thing.
If the game is set up in a good way then there will be plenty of dungeons or places of interest to hunt. If there is one place that has the best stuff and everyone ends up there then it becomes a social dilemma and one must use social skills to gain footing and come up with solutions. I never had trouble even when everyone seemed to be where I wanted to be. Honest to god social skills.

RE: Secrets in game
Trick question.... must not speak of awesome secrets..... not gonna say nothing... nope... its a secret.
-
RE: Instanced Dungeons/Raids
There are good arguments for both sides, but to be honest instances kill the social interactions that open zones might force. Its those interactions that you will remember long after why you were there in the first place.

RE: Pre Alpha
I think its under NDA, that would mean they would be unable to do what you are asking without getting in trouble.

RE: How do you feel about transmog system for fractured?
Never been big into transmog, as you said in EQ it was bragging without bragging to walk around town in in the best gear in the game. Being the first on my server with Natures Defender and second to have Fiery Avenger turned heads and having a full suit of (insert top gear armor) and people would run over and inspect you and you were buried in a flurry of tells asking about your adventures. I would hate to miss out on some of that.

RE: Rewards
I am pretty happy with the rewards I have earned. So many secret rewards, wait till you get up to the top positions, its pretty awesome. I am having difficulty with the free unicorn.... have you ever tried to clean up rainbow colored poop from a white carpet? I swear this thing eats a box of Fruity Pebbles when I am not looking. The dragon was cool also but it scares the poop out of the unicorn, and the pet demon... that little bastard... hides my car keys in the morning, steals toilet paper, orders stuff on Amazon.... and scares the poop out of the unicorn. I am getting good use out of the wolf mount though... sadly it scares the poop out of the unicorn... did I mention the unicorn has rainbow colored poop? I forgot to mention unicorn poop smells like smashed dreams and month old uncleaned outhouse and gym socks. But... yeah... its cool stuff, good rewards up here.

RE: That guy or girl sitting by the bonfire on The Foundation page...
The real question is what is that person looking at that is so interesting? Seriously every time I load the page... still looking at it! The Reward / Quest portion is covering up the most important part... is it a hamburger? Chicken Nuggets? TACOS? Could it be.... P I Z Z A ?????? or.... just some hot naked elf? Or just a tree stump.... I think there are 2 pictures.... its a conspiracy!

RE: Jobs
@Darian look I know you found that spice cheaper somewhere else, but I know the potency of mine was better. No need to call the guards!

RE: Jobs
@darian look man I never thought selling a little illegal catnip to a Tiger Man would end up being such a big thing. You took a big sniff before you bought it.... you were purring so loud I thought you were going to give away my entire operation. I went clean man, have you seen what those other dealers and their bad nip has done to some of those cats? I only dealt with an all natural pure catnip.... Do not make me show those pictures of you giving catnip to those young gal kitties... almost kittens, your wife would claw your eyes out. Lets just forget all about this stuff, I will buy you a couple beers at the Scratching Post Pub and just be friends again. I'm not the big bad wolf people want to think I am, seriously I was kidding about wanting to be a politician!

What will be the primary "motivator" for going into dungeons or fighting dangerous monsters? Games such as Diablo it was all about the loot, some games had rare spells and others it was all about the reputation. Where does Fractured stand?
-
How deeply tied are you to your god of choice.... examples - Will you be able to change religion once you pick one? Is their a bonus for staying true to the role playing aspect of your religion?
-
What bonuses will players have for teaming up and forming guilds outside of just being social and a easy pool to get a group together? Will the "larger the guild the better your chances" rule apply or do you have any plans to help the smaller guilds stand a chance in the harsh wilds?

RE: What We Know About Weapons
Each weapon type needs to be viable, I hate to see games where everyone ends up with the same weapons because they are the only weapons that work. My favorite weapon in EQ was the thorn whip... it was just viable for 3 or 4 levels and never seen again. Sad.

RE: Dungeons
I enjoy a romp in a dungeon just like the rest, but I do think that most dungeons should be group play. Dungeons should be the hard mode for the game and getting more difficult the deeper into the dungeon you go. I do not mind at all if the entry area of a dungeon is soloable, it should be, let you see what to expect, get a feeling for the place. As soon as you cross that bridge or go down that tunnel.... you better have trustworthy backup!

RE: Kick Starting the In-Game Economy?
The best planned gaming economy tanks when the masses get to it. The fastest and best thought out reactions win the day. I have seen some amazingly well planned out games go full toilet flush in just the first week, people will exploit the darndest things, and stuff you never never planned to hold value will, and the things you thought will be hoarded will be blown off entirely. A seriously rigorous beta can help but it also works in favor of those looking to find and profit from a exploit. Keeping a watchful eye on economic trends closer to launch can also help, but again... the masses do the darndest things, and when you say that the game is live and no more wipes is when people go full throttle on those exploits.
A good plan is a great start, getting ready to tackle the issues that arise is where you will make or break the game!
