@kellewic There are 2 planets full of risk people should stop arguing about Arboreus. 'll go explore everything to get all knowledge as possible but for sure I'll go gather on Arboreus. The most thing I hate is lose time so I will try to avoid to be pked while gathering.
Not arguing at all; just concerned about the rift of player expectations and what the developers have specifically said in the Spotlights. From a pure RP perspective Demons want to kill Beastmen and Humans to spread death and chaos - direct from Spotlight #1. It's their function.
After reading more and more of the forums (after my initial post here) I've seen the same concern over and over - going back months.

[Alpha2-1] Died and respawned inside house wall - can't get out
Logging out and back in did end up pushing me out of the wall.

RE: Role play?
@darian said in Role play?:
@jetah ... You see, IRL, people are not very fond of killing each other. That's why I generally find pvp without purpose to be plain stupid when you are trying to create an immersive world. If it's just an arena, then yes... it makes sense, and it's fun. But immersive worlds can't have mindless killing. That basically destroys the world you are trying to immerse yourself into. By role play, I don't necessarily mean talking like a Shakespeare fanboy. I mean making decisions as if you where that very character, not an outside god toying with it. I mean, taking into account your character's beliefs, fears, needs and desires, and acting accordingly.
I want to provide a counterpoint to this in that if this game is allowing Chaotic Evil as an alignment, it is immersive for those players to be killing others for no reasons but their own. I'm not saying it's my thing, but by your definition they are doing what a Chaotic Evil character would do - causing chaos and destruction for no other reason than their own selfish ones.

RE: Overloading, no use of chests or tanning tubs
Just saw this happen to @Ladyrowan - she was over 200% encumbered standing between 2 chests to transfer stuff and then couldn't open anything until she logged out and back in.

@kellewic They are. But the world does not make it easy for them. In fact, a chaotic evil should be greeted with hostility even by those of his own alignment. That's why there are very few serial killers IRL. And even fewer who last long enough to have an impact. The problem with most open world PVP games is that there is no real punishment from being a pk-er. The world does not react to you ant you don't stand to loose pretty much, anything. Unlike your victims. It's incredibly bad for business as well, but that's a story for another time!
Agree. Chaotic Evil beings would be loners since they are all about themselves and would not take direction very well - that already puts them at a disadvantage in a hostile world. Getting them to work together isn't impossible - promises of chaos and destruction, valuable items, etc. They would likely make good shock troops. But any relation with them would be tenuous at best.

Attribute scores at 20 not giving bonus
I haven't checked Willpower and Fortitude, but for Evasion and Accuracy the highest it goes is 300 with DEX/PER at 20 which means it's not taking the +10 bonus into account. With the bonus they would both be 500.

Can't wait until the next, longer test period to have a nice long look around at the new stuff.

RE: Elusive - Casual Beastman Guild
@Pwnstar Only time will tell - I know there have been changes in their thinking on similar issues. Still, crossing planets and the difficulties there I don't see changing as it's core to the game.
I wanted to edit to add that if any good-aligned races end up being able to stay on Arboreus permanently, I don't see why we wouldn't let them in. As it stands with the stated difficulty crossing planets it would have to be a multi-world guild which I'm not sure the game provides for, although I thought I remembered the only restriction guild-wise is alignment - this is one of those things that has flip/flopped a bit and I don't recall where it landed; originally, it was world restricted.

RE: I want to get excited but...
I don't get the "forced PvP" attitude. Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. If you don't like PvP then stick to the 90% safe spots on Arboreus and the Good towns on Syndesia. If you venture out into non-safe zones (by your own choice) and get killed; too bad. Nobody forced you to do it; you chose to do it. I don't mean to sound harsh, but as @Prometheus posted:
We are deeply convinced we can make the PvE and PvP crowds coexist in Fractured. In fact, we could call that one of the design pillars of the game itself!
If players are looking for PvE only, the choices are stick to the safe zones only or play a pure PvE game. Pure PvP players won't have access to the pure PvE areas without huge debuffs/drain of vital energies with only 30 minutes on Arboreus and a "couple hours" on Syndesia. Looking to "raid" Arboreus - as Spotlight #6 says "you won't succeed" - however, I have no doubt Demons will try.
That doesn't mean PvP players won't catch venturing PvE players outside those safe spots though - that's a choice a PvE player has to make - either accept you can only gain so much Knowledge in the safe spots, or risk it and go outside those safe spots. Outside those safe spots you are agreeing, by playing the game, to be part of the greater open PvP world.
To me, Fractured is kind of like if PoE and ArcheAge had a baby. It looks a lot like PoE, but has many characteristics of ArcheAge - open world PvP with plenty of safe spots.

RE: Unable to take wood slanted against the tree stump
It seems since patch 2.3.0e this became a problem again. When the test started you could run through them most of the time to move them, but not any more.

@Vengu look at this:
@gothix said in May 5th Q&A Livestream - List Your Questions!:
You mentioned there are zones on Arboreus only good aligned players can enter. Can a good alligned player that is already in such "good zone" switch his alignment to evil inside there and then attack other players there?
It's also not possible to switch alignment as you wish like active pvp on/off. Alignment is a progress system but if you attack/loot/kill neutral/good you will be automatically flagged as evil. So you will get stomped before have the time to kill someone. They said that's insta stomp.
You can switch alignment at the resting phase. There are the karma changes which will restrict which alignment you can choose at the resting phase. I think that's why the question came up since Spotlight #6 says if you're Good "all three options are open" (Good, Neutral, Evil). Will a Good Beastmen player that is Good that switches to Evil during the resting phase be kicked from the Good only area (or die)? If so, where would they respawn?
