Some city information on maps would be nice.
But I would personaly like the most if you only got this information after discovering the city, and further infomation about city only after gaining knowledge about the city.
City name, after discovering city.
City details, after gaining more knowledge about the city, through further effort.
After this, that info (what ever you got) is shown on map for you.
Im personaly very imterested to see how the trading post will operate in practice. Ans how many people will, and for what reasons try to go "around it". If any will.
Taxes, black market,... will probably happen due to various reasons and politics.
The best way to test this is by having a vet player make a fresh alt and then play it.
Due to his game experience, he will not have much problems playing against other vet players with his starter set of spells due to game being horisontaly progressed, and there you see the advantage of horizontal progression.
New players that do not understand controls yet will surely loose, but there is no way around that whatever you do.
Very nice video, with many usefull tips and explanations.
This is becoming more and more complex, which is great. Learning curve keeps the games interesting.
Problem with Fractured is that its designed around manual travel and no simple fast travel.
Also local marketplace.
With classic AH bidding system, local people who are sticking around would have unfair advantage because travelers will not wait wasting their time and bidding. They wish to continue moving.
Such system is incentivising sticking around the cities deincentivising travel, and unlike other games where you can simply teleport back to city to rebid, in Fractured you cant.
In Fractured you might even not return to thatcity anymore at all.
What I hate is coming to an AH, bidding on an item, and coming tomorrow, seeing player has canceled the post because he didnt like the amount the bid reached.
That has to be forbidden.
Once someone has placed a bit on your item, you should not have the right to cancel that post anymore.
If you don't want the risk of getting to low money, then DON'T PUT TOO LOW STARTING BID !
Having the graphics we have now, but even more optimised for massive gameplay, to have everything run smoothly.
I really dislike listing fees.
I would like more if there was no listing fees, but only tax when item actually sells.
I would completely disable post canceling if someone has already placed a bid, and would add a fee for post canceling if noone placed a bid yet, this would prevent, post-canceling abuse.
To prevent placing 100s of single stack items, I would add listing CAP, a maximum number of listings one player can have.
That fixes everything, and still avoids having listing fees.
@GamerSeuss said in Coinage and Monster Gold Loot:
As to WTS Spam, if they make a specific chat channel for WTS posts, and filter them out of the main chat altogether, that covers the WTS spam.
I played too many MMOs, most had WTS channels and AH with fees.
Reality is unfortunatela that players that want to avoid loosing cash even when their sale fails, use both WTS channel and all other available channels to spam.
Solution might be to only take AH cut if sale is actually sucessful and forfeit fee if sale doesnt happen.
AH post canceling after someone has already posted a bid should be disabled to prevent people puting low starting bid and then canceling their posts when they arent happy with size of the bid in the end.
Biggest problem for players is repeatedly posting same item on AH and then continually losing money because noone bought it.
I'm kinda hoping that AH doesn't take the cut of the sales.
It makes sense that it does, but unfortunately that always leads to people avoiding AH and trying to sell stuff manually, which leads to insane amount of WTS spam in any populated area.
AH not taking cut would greatly reduce this spam.
Yes for barter economy.
In start before gold is available it will be only barter. Later on gold will replace a part of bartering, but shouldnt eliminate it completely.
Hopefully with resource breaking, and possibly gold coin melting, and raw gold reuse, things should work ok.
The moto of the lich is to leech.
Leech the power and the life essence of others and of the nature to extend own life and grow more powerful.
Economy will be player made. So in start there will be little gold but there will also be little of everything (of all goods).
Later on there will be more gold but there will be more of all goods as well, and better goods that will cost more gold.
Also hopefully if goods will be breakable back to percentage of base resources, so will gold coins be breakable back to raw gold resource, that could also be used for something else.
I venture a guess - Oct 23

So when you are at work playing Fractured, and your coworker or boss comes annoying you "take advantage of specially designed holiday" so they leave you alone.
