    • RE: Mail & COD

@Tsoo cross world mail, and cross town mail will surely not exist. Fractured is all about travelling with your goods and risking the travel dangers for better profits.

Cross town mail system would just be going around that, and I can tell you with pretty high certainty that we will not see that.

Intra- city mail with COD, like a local cargo bay, where you could leave your item with COD, for buyer to come pick up on the spot where you left it and then pay for it could be interesting.

Something like this we already will have (market stands to sell your goods). Just the reservation system wasn't mentioned (unless I'm mistaken), but it would likely be easy enough to implement.

So reservation system tied to market stands, I can see that.

Normal market stand with all the items you placed on it, but as an extra option you reserve item X, for person Y, with price tag Z, for time duration T, and if this person fails to come pick it up in designated time frame, then this item just transfers to your general item assortment on market stand and becomes available for anyone to buy at designated price tag. 🙂

    • RE: Mentor system

      @dagimir said in Mentor system:

@logain Not really. Someone still has to do the tasks to learn whatever skill it is. If you are constantly around someone doing something you naturally pick up stuff. So yeah it would be easier to go out and to the tasks to learn the skill but over time I think skills that are used around you constantly should have a chance to be learned.

      I disagree.

I prefer people having to preform an actual accomplishment to gain skills, and not only by following someone around.

Even only asking for what you are asking would empower players that want to avoid an actual travelling to risky places (PvP zones) and want to stay in safe area and just learn all skills from friends that traveled around, without actually traveling themselves, and pulling off the challenging tasks needed to be done.

      Yeah, how about no. 🙂

I want Fractured to be a skill requiring game and not just a time consume game, ty.

    • RE: What will be you main intention in the game ?

Pick shrooms, grind shrooms, smoke shrooms.

      Dance naked with bears.

      Get eaten by bears.

      Regret smoking shrooms.

    • RE: Race Starting on Any Planet Idea

The only issue would be that if someone wanted to play an angel, they would chose demon on Arboreus by default because he would then have to grind a lot less to reach his goal, than starting full negative on Tartaros.

The same goes for someone wanting to play as abomination. He would automatically chose to start on Tartaros.

    • RE: Steampunk Technology: What we can expect to see in Fractured?

I would love to see some "risk vs. profit" technology.

For example, an eye implant that can make you able to see better in dark (without having a torch), but if someone lights up a torch near you, and you didn't deactivate this implant, you will get blinded for a while.

Something that gives benefits, but also has risk attached to it, or some drawbacks.

    • RE: Bardikens' Compendium of Suggestions Part 2: Logistics/Economy

Without going into details (since I'm also not an economy expert) I would just like to add my personal opinion, which is that game should never be "too simple".

I believe a good MMO should come with some complexity, which requires some decent learning curve to become efficient as a player. This provides both a challenge and a sense of accomplishment once you get "on top of things".

I belive this should be true for every part of the game, not only combat, but economy, housing, and everything else.

People get bored quickly with "simple things", so I hope "dynamic" will apply to as many parts of Fractured as possible, offering us "fun in every corner". 😉

    • RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"

"Convenience" can be different things depending on game mechanics and type of game.

For example, selling character bag space in a game that also has large housing storage and multiple teleports to the house would be a simple convenience, luxury that's not really making you "win" anything.

In a game that's full loot, and features manual travel and restricted character carry capacity, selling bag space would be P2W.

So depending on a game, a same thing can be either a P2W or a simple convenience.

If cash shop is made right, and features only a real convenience, that this will be good for the game. Just need to be careful what to put in shop. 🙂

@Logain you underestimate the presence of preetty girls being in a tavern. I think that tavern will even have a queue. 😉

    • RE: New spell Ideas

I loved the spells from Ultima VIII long time ago...

Sorcerers type of spells, where you had to read books in game to even know how to create them, then gather needed resources, then find pentagram on floor, then manually place resources on specific pentagram spots, like you saw in book, then put magical stone in the middle, and recite a spell... and only if everything done correctly, you imbued the stone, and could pick it up and use the stone to cast the spell that's "inside".

And herbalist type of spells, where you had to use magic pouch, gather specific herbs and other mats, and mix it in pouch (you also had to know exactly what and how much by reading the books) and then you created the spell, and imbued something with it (wand or something), and could cast it.

Modern games lack such complexity that was found in some old school RPGs. Perhaps Fractured could bring some of that back.

    • RE: Have you noticed also?

I'm researching anything I'm buying. From games, computer hardware, house supplies, you name it.

If I'm buying a garden table, I'll research what material is best for it, how it handles rain, wind, physical pressure, whats the pricing, can i find chairs that match that table afterwards,...

If I'm getting a wife, I'll research if she can make good cookies, etc...

Without research, you will just regret most of your decisions in life. 😉 Research minimizes the risks you are taking.

    • RE: PvE Planet with PvP

@PeachMcD there will always be players who will try to "push their own agenda" on "any side".

PvP players wanting more PvP on Arboreus, and PvE players pushing for less PvP on other two planets. 🙂

It's simply that part of people do not care for others, are selfish, and you can't expect any better from them.

But we trust that such players will not influence devs away from their vision. 🙂 We have good dev team here, and i have no worry we will end up with a MMO just as they promoted it.

    • RE: What is the main reason why you want to play Fractured?
      1. GvG PvP, fight for territory control and resources, engaging politics and group conflicts, social mechanics
      2. sandbox driven economy
      3. good player community (so far) 🙂
      4. developers pasion and engagement / love for the game world
      5. beautiful game world design pulling you in, together with complexity of game play mechanics

Sorry, its hard to fit all in to only 5 points. 😉

    • RE: Ok, Bought the game after a 2 min video on youtube; was it the right choice?

      Tbh, reading other comments here.

You can not say if the choice is good or bad here, it depends on many factors...

      • How much a player can afford to spend? Does he have plenty of cash, or he can't afford the food..
      • How much time will player invest in gaming? Is he a gamer, and he will get plenty of fun time out of it, or is he paying to play it for a month and then quit...
      • Other factors...

So imho, if one can afford the investment, and he is a gamer, planning to play for a while, and aims to have fun while doing it, then purchasing a pack can't be a bad choice in any way.

If person is poor, can't even afford his bills, then buying higher level gaming packs... well i think it's obvious...
