Critical strikes

    i dont want highly generalized characters. i believe highly specialized should be bad too so that many people are between jack of all trades and specialist.



  • And question about CC: will crits offer any bonus to CC abilities? Will for example stuns be able to crit? And if they can, will they last longer ? Or will crit CCs be harder to save against? Or does it affect only damage abilities and autoattacks ?

    Wil criticals with various dmg types have different effects (cold->freeze, fire->burn dot, poison -> reducing damage, melee crit -> bleed etc)? or will crits only increase damage?

    No, crits won't offer any bonuses to CC abilities, only the Accuracy (and the luck) will. In general, the victim can resist to any stun or poison effects on the basis of his willpower, evasion and fortitude.



  • @Znirf Sorry to bother, but a stupid question came to my mind. I know restorative abilities costing mana will be probably "spells", but will heal abilities be able to crit ?

    are crits full random, or pseudo random like in, for example, DotA2?
    Would be bad for me to not crit 10 times in a row with 25% chance to crit...and bad for enemy to get critical 10 times in a row due to luck.

    Hello Asspirin! No bother at all 🙂 Anyway, almost certainly healings won't have chances to crit.

    Crits won't be full random, our system will be based on a "generic randomness" that should assure consistency of the results.



  • Great, thanks a lot ... so guild full dedicated tank/healer (aka paladin archetype) will not have any use for perception at all, right. Thanks 🙂

    With perception only at 15 in my staff build for this test wolf head and wolf teeth necklace my crits were pretty impressive. probably will switch it to 18 for next test if cap numbers are still the same since accuracy is most important thing with melee build. Think the devs posted somewhere that luck will help with crits also just cant find where i read that.

  • @Nyquil44 Luck sure will be important, but only future will show how reliable "higher damage thanks to lucky rolls" will be. However luck is not only offensive stat, it improves your defence as well which is awesome. Perception on the other way is only offence and it seems super high aim has bigger diminishing returns than defences.
