Psychometrics to establish natural fit

  • TF#11 - PROCONSUL

Has it been suggested by anyone already to have a welcome test for new players to assess where they might be most happy? Could be interesting (as long as data isn't shared with law enforcement or any company with a name ending in Analytica 😄 )

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

    A welcome test?

  • TF#3 - ENVOY

Do you mean a test to find out which race does fit you the most or what?

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

A stranger in a dark hood approaches you would you

    1. Stab him in the face
    2. Invite him to join you on a mighty quest
    3. request he joins you in picking berrys and licking rocks

😂 I was thinking something more complex, but maybe it can be done with just one question as well.

I saw this youtube video from MetaGoblin, where he has this Classic WoW questionnaire to help people to choose right class. Of course choose between nine classes is a little bit different than choose between three races.. Unless this questionnaire contain all sub-races and metamorphosis what Fractured has, that would be quite interesting actually.

@Tuoni as players get to know the game better we could always make one for new player's

Yeah I totally agree. I just can not get over that number 3 in your list.. That was good one. 😆

i like how the demons have the higher scores!

  • TF#11 - PROCONSUL

You people are ace! I hadn’t even expected an answer to my rather flippant post and only just remembered to check back. I’ve been laughing away at the example questions 😄
I’m off to lick some rocks...

think it only has 25 trys or something so if someone knows a free quiz makeing website ill make more with more questions, but something like this could be good for new players i guess

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@Xzoviac That is not bad idea and can be interesting tool for some people. However, it is absolutly crucial to choose as objective and neutral questions as possible. Otherwise the result is not in balance, meaning you can not use "stone licking" questions.. 😅

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@Tuoni some people like to lick stones, and if you wanna pick berries lick stones and chill beast men are def for you

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@Xzoviac Though, being a kind soul does not mean being a good one. As you know, even evil needs their healers 😉

so long as you're killing others to heal, you're fine!

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

If you see someone that's hurt and needs your help, but you know if you help and heal him, he will go around and kill more people because he is a killer, and you chose to help and heal him, enabling him to kill more in the process...

    Are you good or bad?

Depends if you are protecting the balance , helping a bloodthirsty king defend his realm against a overly powerful group of zealot holy knights until they become too weak, then switching sides and overthrowing the king for a less hostile king

Could be a example of knowingly helping evil to stop one side become to powerful,

Power corrupts, and ultimate power corrupts ultimately, sometimes balance is the best way to strive for good.

Then again in the healing a bad person scenario maybe you just wanna heal him to give him hope, only to follow him and chop his legs off just as he glimpses a town on the horizon, so you can watch him crawl 1 mile and make a song about a stumpy little friend

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@Gothix Depends on how intelligent and/or naïve you are. As if you are naïve, you will help him as a good person, even if you know he is a bad one ready to kill hundreds, because you will trust in goodness of his heart that he will change because of his near-death experience. If you are intelligent enough as a good person you will heal him only to the degree to stabilize him and then turn him into the local authorities to take care of the rest, if you are chaotic good, you might just help him, 'cause everyone deserves kindness and to be saved and if he kills someone else, they were just not simply meant to live. And if you are evil and intelligent - you will save him and manipulate him into serving you. If you are a savage beast, you will kill him on spot for the loot and fun of it. But in the end an action on its own is neither good nor evil, it depends on the motives.

    Three, 3, three!

In real life and in situation like this you first call help, explain the situation and listen introductions given from PSAP (public safety answering point). That way you help the hurt person and most likely prevent anything more to happen. Question is also quite vague and there can be a lot of different kind of scenarios which impacts to decisions made by the helper.

In Fractured this is easy, because of the alignment and flagging system. These makes it relatively easy to make decisions. If good alignment character sees evil person in trouble and you decide not to help, you are still good. Even if you decide to kill that evil person, you are still good and in best situation maybe even rewarded doing so.
