It's the day but not the hour.
The first testing phase, labeled Alpha 1 – Test 1, is starting on Wednesday, April 10, at 4pm CET (10am ET).

Oh I just noticed it is 4PM CET and not CEST

So its 2.5 hrs to launch of alpha and no download link yet? This is gonna be a nightmare if everyone is trying to download it in a short period of time. Should have put the link out at least 12 hrs before launch to offset the traffic.

@Gurthngwaw Don't worry about it, the download only takes about 5 minutes and the pre-alpha rush didn't cause any high traffic issues.

For the love of god, when this game goes to release, you should have the ability to choose your installation path.
As it is alpha, I can understand limitations, but if we can't pick our installation path on release, that is going to piss off a lot of people.

I work for a software company, and we have learned, never assume the developers will do anything, if you notice something, you tell them. If you assume that they are already aware, or planning to do something, and everyone else assumes the same thing, they may not know there is an issue.
so while I was pretty sure that they plan to make a new launcher, (as you can tell from my post), I still thought it best to say something.

What about the developer forum? When will we see that? I think in one of the Q&A videos @Prometheus mentioned it will start with Alpha? What is the current plan for this?

What is the plan for "Access to private monthly video Q&A chat with the developers" from the Aristocrat pledge pack? Is this something planned for the testing phases or after release?

How is bug reporting for the Alpha going to look like? Will there be a seperate thread on the forum for Alpha 1 just like for the Pre-Alpha (with the difference that it is going to be public)?

Are you going to add some voice channels / an Alpha 1 channel in discord? I am sure people would not mind writing / speaking to each other while testing the game
