So what is the foundation about? Does it have anything to do with an actual in game "foundation"? Furthermore, do we get daily points (after day 1) when we log in (so kind of like a daily log in bonus)?

You get points by recruiting people and compliting the quests on the Foundation page. You also get 15 points automatically every day (and more every 10 levels).
You can see the quests and rewards here: https://fracturedmmo.com/the-foundation/Those points award you with titles, armor skins, pets, mounts and some other stuff in the future.

@chrightt what @Rofus explained is correct. One thing I shall add is that the The Foundation is less than half complete, tons of rewards and quests are missing. We're going to give it a nice update this month already if possible!

@Prometheus Would be nice for a quest update! In my opinion the current list of quests are way too limited.
