I wonder how many people will span new post or junk post sense Prometheus's new point system. This will be interesting on how he controls this
-
I haven't seen much junk yet, and hopefully it stays that way. Most people who want to up their post count just say welcome to a bunch of new people at the introduction forum. I think we should be lucky that it's limited to 1 post per day and not points for every post we make beyond the first 10. Imagine the spam if every post gave points.
-
There will probably exist some junk just for that daily, but the Forum itself doesnΒ΄t have many active people as well so the chance for junk post is still low for now ahah but well as the Forum grows more junk will surely appear for sure..
-
I am not very worried about that. A more active forum also provides more threads for decent posts instead of junk.
-
Some people will trash talk
Most people will write in the welcome forum
-
@vengu Well yeah I guess that's also true Well I just hope this Forum turns up to be more active
-
It will be interesting to see how they handle all of this though
-
Prometheus's new point system?
-
@cookiesneedlove He refered to the foundation, the forum game that awards us with ingame goodies once the game is released.

It's rewarding now and it's not released

I think the point system will work well, especially in the beginning phase. For example at first I didn't think of getting straight to the forum after registering. But in expectation of getting some 'publicity work' done AND getting some kind of immediate reward I decided to give it a shot right now.
Most of the time it will be only a short spike in my opinion, but it's worth the try.

Things have gone relatively smoothly thus far - I think the real test will be when they begin their crowdfunding campaign and traffic skyrockets. Should be interesting.

I think it's still unbalanced just post really it don't what you say or just make stupid random post and you get to the top in a month. Kinda pointless to me it needs to be more hard to obtain points but that's just me
-
@aries yep still unbalanced and easy to exploit
but it definetly could be worse^^

spam.. possibly but it will keep people checking back in at least. Once more info is out about this game there will be no issues getting people to post every day something relevant.
-
If spammer will become a problem it may make sense to give them a big points malus (like 150 at the first strike, 300 at the second and a point stop for the third). Difficult to manage manually but if the 'spamming gets real' you can set up an automatic system to detect and rule those spammers immediatly... at least my idea of handling it if technically possible.
Gladly we don't have the problems right now
-
@casgadom That may sound good. But at the same way it also varies, what you consider spam some people may not, but currently there really is no problems with spam thank god Let's hope it wonΒ΄t change much
-
Linkrealms after 2 years, versus Fractured after a couple months.
It seems pretty clear the majority of posts to most threads contribute nothing. I'm not going to say it's necessarily a problem, even if I personally find it extremely distasteful, but it's definitely spam.
Edit: Not to mention wtf is up with all this necroing?
@Prometheus change it to awarding points for reading threads/daily logins? I feel the lack of quality will discourage people who are sincerely interested, even if it encourages people who want points.
-
I agree with you @Holya that the necroing is starting to look bad, especially in the welcome section where people dig deeper and deeper to post a standard welcome post for their daily. With that said, I think the main reason why it's messy right now is because there simply isn't much to talk about. Hopefully when the game is further along in development we will also see better discussions.
