As I see it, the people who purchase the Founder level packages and participate in all alphas & betas will enter with a distinct advantage. Every level of support for the development of this game accords the 'investor' with a level of advantage when the game is released, since they'll have had experience in the interface and a say in the feedback on each test.
Even people who don't invest, but lurk and learn on this forum, on the wiki, and on the game's website, will have an advantage when the game goes live.
What sort of advantage does your hypothetical 'guy' want? Those are the advantages available, as far as I'm aware....
