Kinda wish Reddit was used more than these forums.

I browse reddit a lot, and every other game has a very active community. Reddit is extremely convenient for most of us ... it feels like Fractured pushes a little too hard to leverage what feels like an antiquated forum.
-
I use reddit a lot as well but I feel like a game shouldn't solely rely on a third party source for discussion, especially when there are specific private sub-forums only certain people will have access to, not to mention the different languages employed and the wide variety of topics on hand.
Reddit does some things well, but it just can't emulate what a traditional board does best.

some people like myself fail to wrap their head around the new reddit setup since it was changed from its impressive, very simple setup to the new holy fck wtf am i doing and how do i navigate this website setup, about a year ago. If this game forum was based on redit, i probably wouldnt still be following it.

I am considering myself a relic, so antiquated is my thing !
It really is a matter of taste, I have tried to get the grasp on Reddit several years now, but I always get brain damage by using it, to much info, too clustered to easly read post and responses
What I do know that several games had their Reddit "channel" started by fans and in a later statium converting to an offical one (same on Discord) . If there really is a need for a reddit channel, some people (or you ?) can start it up ?

I get it - we all have our preferred ways to get and share info, and Reddit(tm) is yours. But given that how most folks want to actually spend their time (once things are up and running) is playing the game, it just cuts into gaming time to multiply platforms and ask people to keep up with all of them.
I'm currently playing a mobile game called Rise of Kingdoms(tm). There's a discord(tm) server for the game that I find useful for answering questions, and some alliances I've been in have created alliance servers & used their voice channels to coordinate war activities. That can be helpful. But my last alliance also had a very active Facebook(tm) page & chat channel - those of us who want to get away from fb were disadvantaged severely. I ended up finding another alliance. Some alliances also have a Reddit(tm) page/forum/thingee. As some of my friends might say, "Ain't nobody got time for all that!"
@Yitra made a good suggestion: if Reddit(tm) is your jam, @Orich, nobody's stopping you setting something up for like-minded Fractured-folk. I doubt you'll see me there, but lots of things have happened in this world that I'd never have predicted...

Fractured already has a subreddit. (alternative link for those who hate the new layout). It seems most people stick to the official forum though, probably due to the Foundation.
-
Kinda wish more people were interested in Fractured, to begin with.

well there you go then, @Orich ! Once again, Devs FTW

I am someone who likes antiquated forums, but new hot stuff aswell (per example Discord).
Reddit i tried several times, but i got no crush on it.
I just don't like the chaotic design and its fast changing informations.
It is more like "You got it, but you forgot it."
I like the slowmo, slow living, slow consuming, slow being.
Reddit is envogue as hell, i understand that... somehow same as Instagram.
Same reason i don't use Insta, i also don't use Reddit, because it is not slow.I am appreciating much, that the Dynamights don't press me into using it, as other studios do, who not have an own forum anymore.
-
I never use Reddit, and I don't think I would even if my favorite game of all time was on it. I prefer having an "antiquated" forum, who only focus on the game than something like Reddit. I have Facebook, and it's far enough for me ^^

@Esher sounds like me

I stick to the these forums because they're easy to navigate and search - I'd be here even without the Foundation. I tried reddit for a bit and absolutely hated it. I'm rarely on Discord because after a few days I come back to 100+ messages that I don't feel like reading. With the forum threads marked unread, I skim the titles, read what I find interesting and mark the rest as read with minimal hassle.

@Kralith Maybe I'm you A younger version of you

That is kinda my point ... Foundation drives behavior. The subreddit is completely dead -- all of the content is here.
Even for smaller games starting out ... Grinding Gear Games is a great example of how to use Reddit and website forums effectively together.

The key is muting a server or channels
I am in many Servers, since i want to have the possibility to talk to the special groups.
Alone 15 just for Boundless, and already 4 for Fractured.
Without muting them and just decide if i wish to see @everyone or just direct mentions, i also could not live with Discord, but this tool really makes it easy to filter the right informations

Well, reddit has no activity mini-game, so it's dead. Meanwhile, the official forums are still active, because even if there are few especially eager fans, there's something to keep others active.
