    • RE: Guilds & Governor pledge packs

I think one aspect we still need to know is whether we will be able to make individual claims on each character or planet. The current alpha allows one at a time regardless of numbers of characters. It may be possible for someone to fill up their own town if they can make a claim on each character. Personally, I don't want to see claim per character happening. I would like if it's possible to make claims on multiple planets however. It would be really rough to play a beastman if your only claim account-wide is on Tartaros for example. (Perhaps this issue can or will be circumvented through guild storage and buildings? Max 1 individual claim per account would not necessarily be max 1 guild?)

I believe there will be checks in place to prevent gaming the system like that, meaning that real people will be needed to upkeep and maintain towns, purchased or created. Spreading a small population across many towns could weaken a guild instead of strengthening it. The guild could focus it's membership to a handful of towns, but that would leave the rest weakened against any opposition.

So my answer to you after much rambling @Alexian is that the requirements to make a multi-town guild work are very high even for preformed guilds. This game seems to give the best benefits to a guildtown governor who is also the guild leader. A compact single town build is a very strong start, with the possibility of branching out later. This along with the scale of fractured means that multi-town guilds can also be strong with a good community, but are not likely to sweep an entire server under their wing.

Our leader and a few others in our group went for higher packages to support this new game we decided to commit to as a community, after watching progress since last June/July, as well as to push hard for that last bit of money needed before animal taming. No regrets so far 🙂

@deusex2 hmmmm I’m able to run as magic missle continues casting after it’s proced, but I don’t know if that’s intended or not.

They still aren’t hard to kill if you try out other combinations of skills. When soloing as a mage type control spells like webs or ice that slow or keep them away from you are really important.

Edit: and remember, fireball is always your friend. I haven’t seen any resistant to it yet

      I was found! 😰 🙈

Watching mine should be considered at your own risk, I’m not a professional lol.

But seriously, I’m happy there are so many participating streamers. It allows communities and individuals and their voices to get involved at this stage of the game without buying into alpha access, as well as giving Fractured that extra advertising~ ^_^

    • [VDR] Vandiir: Who we are and who we aim to be

      Vandiir Concepts

      What defines Vandiir’s identity?

      Our Philosophy
We want to not only play with our friends as a community, but also leave a lasting impact on the worlds we play in.

      Our Leaders
@Savitr, known on discord as Pteroguin, is a man driven not only by his love of dinosaurs and penguins, but also his love for our community. It’s a love that the second-in-command Plume also shares. Savitr and Plume may be the heads of Vandiir as an overall organization, but you will find that our group has many leaders who stand out and thrive in various games.

      The name of our Group
Vandiir is a unique and lively group of people that are as close-knit as a family. Such a group deserves a name just as unique. Savitr came up with a name that he thought not only sounded good, but was also one he had never heard used. He later found out to his chagrin that an artist had been using it for many years, but the name had already stuck.

      The purpose of our Group
Vandiir is a gaming community that Savitr created when he wanted to forge a place where his friends could play together in Chronicles of Elyria (another Kickstarter MMO). Vandiir may have been organized based on Chronicles of Elyria, but it is not solely a community centered around it. Our purpose is to hang out and have fun regardless of what game we happen to be playing at the time.

You can find out what other games we are playing right now in our discord!
Here is our organizational post on the Chronicles of Elyria Forum for the curious as well.

      Fractured MMO

How do we intend to approach this game?

      Metagaming vs Roleplaying vs Science
Vandiir is often taken to be “metagamers” at first glance, but we actually don’t subscribe to a particular playstyle. Our community has a core group that really enjoys what we call “science”, and it is this science that gives off that particular impression. I will say that Vandiir honestly enjoys trying out every option as a group to find out what works best, but any bugs discovered along the way are reported properly to the development team of whichever game we are playing. It’s more about the journey than simply reaching the finish line first.

      Leadership Structure
      Guild Leader:

      • @Savitr

      Council:

      • @DrQuick
      • @Plume
      • @Syllah

See further membership at our Guild Profile

      Alignment
Our members have shown interest in each of the races and planets, giving us quite the conundrum with the way guilds and planets are locked to specific alignments. Our core organization is likely to be a neutral-based guild with branches on each planet as a result. If necessary, we will split the main guild into three separate allied parts to match each alignment in order to make the most of Fractured’s unique features.

      Allies
Please feel free to approach us about possible alliances, we are more than open to cooperation and collaboration.

      @Jetah
Yeah, "streamsniping" is a bannable offense in a lot of games for a reason.

@Jetah That's interesting and makes me pretty happy!!

Out of curiosity, how long do you think it would take a new account to get to the third tier skills they want if they already know how to play and know exactly what skills they want to aim for? (It's this number I feel should not be shorter than the time of a trial period, or there will be a lot of smurf accounts like the other concern stated in this thread.)

    • RE: Pass for friends - the idea for the release

I don't see any benefits for the game from a developmental perspective. Such trials only work if there is something in the game to get the player to come back long term. Players are going to reach the skill/level plateau really quickly in Fractured compared to games with levels. This is good in a game where you only need to buy once because it evens the playing field. I've heard a lot of complaints about MMOs only really starting once you get to late game content. After you get your initial skills in fractured you are basically set to go try to farm for items or make a guild with the best of them. Getting to experience that without paying takes out any benefit of... ever paying. What keeps people playing long term are other people.

Money barriers aren't fun, but are a reality. This game has a pretty low price threshold for entry already and the VIP system gives a limited amount of money, even long term. It has to have some income or it won't be able to finish being made or maintain it's servers. Giftcards or giftable discounts that still encourage people to buy once to play would be more healthy for the game.

If it's an irl friend, perhaps let them watch you play or even try out a skill or two?
