I messed up and I would totally not mind there being trading or shop setup as an AFK material. I wouldn't mind if you could leave your character logged in at a shop window for others to browse your items that you log for sale and have them buy them. It bring back that dope old school korean MMO feel.

You know it is good when you minimize your browser window and then try to alt tab to pull up whatever game you thought you were playing.

RE: The psychology of gaming
@esoba I would not mind this. It would force you to go do things and not just read them on the internet or watch videos. Maybe it would help deter people from doing it because they know regardless they will have to go back and actually get before they can go on

RE: Crafting system and lifeskilling suggestion
I like being able to create a tag line description for your gear and or having your name on it so people can find and contact you. It makes it feel like your work can be recognized. If you are the only one to forge the craziest weapon in the game you should be renowned as that crazy good person.

Welcome to the group. Hopefully this project turns out to fancy what catches your eye

Welcome friend! If you have the heart of a demon. become a demon. if you eventually want to redeem yourself, the world will accept you!

RE: Becomming an Angel or Abommination
@oobenonioo Other unlockable combos down the road would be possible with this model. It makes a character more interesting and gives a more permanent feel to every action that you commit.

RE: The psychology of gaming
I think these things should be constantly improving and working against the player base. We as players will always find the answer and publish those things for others to go after at some point. I think the thing that works against developers is this. They may develop something that is overall challenging, but once it is solved, it becomes absolutely easy. I think randomization so that one answer is not the ONLY or overarching answer is the goal.
If you randomize even parts of the game like they do the map, then one answer can't be used by everyone and there will need to be some skill involved. Now how they implement that is up to them, but overall if you have a static encounter, there will always be a static answer.

RE: Suggestion: Demon Bone Armor/Weapon
@benseine I think this brings a lot of the gameplay of crafting and pvp together. It gives those on both sides of the fence something to do and a way to display their achievements. I think this should be a mild difficulty that way not everyone can do it, not just purely with grind but with having to possibly pvp and craft for the ability to make.
I advocate for some difficulty. that can always be balanced

RE: Suggestion: Demon Bone Armor/Weapon
I would be scared if I went out to do some pvp as a demon and ran across a human wearing bones. I would know that my life is most likely going to end if they defend pvp players and have a hard to obtain armor from doing so.

RE: Suggestion: Demon Bone Armor/Weapon
@benseine In all seriousness, this can be an easy way to distinguish yourself from those that may be helpful or kind when you run across them.
rule of thumb: never trust a man wearing the bones of your brothers.

RE: The psychology of gaming
@gothix said in The psychology of gaming:
- skill should be more important than gear and SKILL CEILING should be placed extremely high (offers long term progression that is not limited by other game content)
Another point to go along with this is that, while most people may reference there being 400 skills. With how information travels these days, it is only a matter of time before something becomes way more used than something else. Before, you may see different things because everyone believes their way is the best but now there are so many intense theorycrafters that the ultimate way of playing will be found eventually.
I think what they need to focus on is incorporating different skill from the player in order to fully clear something. Puzzles, reaction timing, memorization, knowledge (both in game skill system and knowledge of how new encounters work). There needs to be more emphasis on the player and less on the character that exists in the game. The character in the game is just an extension of ourselves.

I want to make armor with the bones of my enemies. Count me in.

RE: Is the game ready to download and play?
@jetah true but for you there are thousands more who spend nothing and quit games for reasons of quality.
Then for all those people that quit due to those reasons, their friends leave or people who like to socialize leave due to reduced players. Some people leave due to rumors and or negative hype. The Cascade effect.I was stoked for albion, spent money on it, but once the game stopped feeling alive I just quit playing, and I think a lot of this was due to how the game progressed.

RE: Being in a forum pre alpha
@kralith I agree with you. I don't think we need to shape the development now as we all think the system and ideas that they have in place are fantastic.
I think one thing we shouldn't be scared about is making sure those things that draw us to fractured are properly introduced, like devs keeping their systems as they portray them.
I just don't want to get two years down the road and this game be nothing like they advertised. If we think systems and or gameplay sounds fun we should advocate for those things to remain.
I just don't want another bland MMO and I want to hold them accountable to high standards. Not that they don't have them already, just as an on looker and consumer.

RE: Being in a forum pre alpha
Not necessarily feedback of suggestions. But maybe just a meter of how it is being received and what the players believe they will do with those systems at work.

RE: The psychology of gaming
@finland yeah i only know this feeling. No world feels alive when you see no one living in it. The world would feel empty too if you only ran into another player one every month. I hate this feeling and really like to be able to contribute and be with others on a community goal

RE: The psychology of gaming
@esoba I can agree with this as well. No one wants to just continuously play for the same purpose and this goes back to dailies and how that system is flawed to mundaneness. There has to be enough bredth to the game to allow the players to make a culture of adventure and play style.
Eve I think is both a hit and miss. People are aware of how to play the game, but also they are aware of how not to play the game, by sitting in stations, docked, never to experience any game at all.
