I am want to hear that everything is going to plan before I get my hype engine powered up. There has been silence, and that means they are working hard, so when they pop in here with an update... then if it is good news.... I will pour nitrous in the engine

RE: Pre-alpha invites!
I have been playing the heck out of Star Citizen these past few weeks. I would highly recommend checking out the free fly while waiting for the alpha testing here. I am impressed with what they have accomplished so far. Of course there are salty people out there that will bash it, but it seems to be the new in pass time to be offended or salty so I simply ignore them. I hope I can help out here with the alpha but my butt will not be hurt if I am forced to play other games instead.
Cheers!

RE: Post Kickstarter Funding is Going Well
Yeah not bad at all. I hope as time goes on it picks up a bit more steam. Would love to get to that fishing goal =).

RE: Quests for classes
Class quests would be hard in a game without classes but still kinda possible I guess. You could have a group of quest givers that has the same goal achieved by different means. Say one path would be great for an archer but straight murder for a melee class. Another would have monsters only capable of being defeated by opposite elements or creatures weak to undead magic. You would have to talk around and find the path best suited for you and your rewards would benefit that style of play. Some people will have multiple paths to choose picking the quest based on the reward and others might only have once choice. Dynamic quest givers could also be possible and picking the reward would pick the path. Will be interesting to see where things like this go.

RE: Mail & COD
Mail set up correctly creates a need to reach out and be reached by other players. Multiple levels of interaction allows for more diverse levels of social actions, guilds and solo alike.

RE: Mail & COD
Good question, mail is always cool. WoW it was instrumental in trading and its a great way to give players gifts and such..... gifts make happy players (hint!)

RE: Pre-alpha invites!
This just in.... code breakers have found a few more lines that might be helpful. "For they the testers full on toast will make better for all, thanks and giving all the same." and "And they dare not forget Mazikar for testing, for if they do he will not be there, and he will be sad, and that should make you feel sad, and everyone is sad, that's not a good thing." I was just as shocked to see that last line, but its in the codex! Why mess with a prophesy?

RE: Pre-alpha invites!
They left the pre-alpha page visible to distract us. The real conspiracy's are going on in the hidden forums. It seems the only way to make it to pre-alpha is to wear a tinfoil hat with llama hair and Christmas ornaments..... it is said in a prophesy that "they (pre-alpha testers) will smell of broccoli and ciabatta bread"..... so I guess we need to start to get some of that. Anything that I can do to help you folks.... I will let you know. We have just now started to decipher the codex with the prophesy.... top people on it... top people.

RE: Pinatas, catatonia, and Montgomery Scott (or what matters the most to me in MMOs)
Everquest did it the best. Skill pulling and understanding agro ranges was key to being a good puller. I was a good puller but there were some amazing pullers, able to pull and keep key mobs while avoiding pulling an entire room. Quite a bit had to do with class based skills, I was an undead master as a paladin but the rangers and enchanters were the best overall pullers. It took hundreds of hours to get it down. What spells grabbed the most attention, was a thrown weapon or bow better, soothing spells to lower agro range, charm spells, root spells, stuns, all that jazz. It was an art. It was fun! Then they launched EQ2 and proved they had no idea. Brad McQuaid had all the good ideas and mechanics, when he left EQ it was no longer EQ, I was lucky enough to play the game with him for a couple years, he was a cool guy. That is an entirely different story. Anyway..... A solid agro mechanic with reactions based on how and who you attack goes a long way to making a good game great. It allows good players to shine, creates a actual real world skill, thus promoting play, when you learn and overcome it feels better than waffle stomping because of gear.

RE: Special weekly market
Roaming vendors with cool stuff was in the first months of Everquest and it was a cool touch. People complained and they became vendors in a cave with the vendors in the cave being the roaming vendors (they didn't have anything overly useful). I like the thought of mobile vendors with cool items.

RE: Pre-alpha invites!
As of right this moment I have not been invited over for dinner, or beta, or for board games, to play guitar, to tell war stories, to fix the computer, nothing. I am beginning to wonder if we are still friends.... @Prometheus talk to me man! What did I do????

RE: Let's pray for sick Blizzard :(
I have to admit I felt like I cheered my home team all the way to the "big game" just to hear that they were satisfied to get as far as they have so they let the other team win by default and I should be happy to join them at the party they are throwing for their fans that is called the "Meh good enough for us" tickets are only $49.95.

RE: Wat?
A bit on the thin side there bro... they look like tortillas, nothing wrong with a breakfast burrito though.
