RE: Are you a PVP or PVE player?
PvP or PvE are almost both equally entertaining for me, what I would do the most is defined by how much fun the mechanics of both system will bring.
On UO I had done almost exclusivly PvP, with few PvE scenario just for the biggest events around (at the time of AoS, the Harrower and the gathering of the reagents for it from the Champs). While on WoW I really disliked Arena and BG, focussing more on PvE (with occasionally RBG).

@dragomok Ye sorry I mis-typed. I meant "non-linear progression" because, as you correctly said, there is a lot of freedom in how everyone will be able to unlock abilities and traits doing different activities.

I really hope Fractured will provide an interesting and engagin experience similar to the old UO (at the time of AoS expansion pack), where there was freedom of choice and a friendly environment that suited everyone allowing them to do what pleased them the most.

RE: Preventing Bots in Arboreus
Bots may be there if the game gets a good resonance, otherwise probably we'll never see them. But I agree that a report system or some other way to deal with them should be in place from the start.
Anyway, since the level of grind should be far lower than in other games, I don't know how much a bot will be usefull in Fractured. -
RE: Can we transfer our alpha/beta progress to the final game?
It would be pretty unfair if some people can start head of others. Alpha and Beta are meant to be testing environments to allow Devs to gather datas and fix issues not a "pre released" version of the game.

RE: The Fractured Pre-Alpha Is Coming!
While I'm too exited to see the project starting, I don't get all this hype for a Pre-Alpha: it's basically a test to see if the general core of the game works properly, it will have tons of downtimes and very little will be implemented.
Chill out guys, it's far more interesting to see the Alpha 1 where the game will be more refined at we could get a better idea of the game.

The biggest innovations, imho, are:
- Linear progression - no level or experience; each chararcter will be ready to go right from the start.
- "Flat" itemization - gear will be something that you'll need to survive the different environments, not just items that are there to boost your statistics.
- PvPvE separation - the different game style are clearly divided by default in the game's world so everyone can decide how to play without being on different servers from their friends, if they like a more soft or hardcore approach.
- Taming - I know that the goal of 180k is not reached yet but it has been since the time of UO that a game put a decent taming system up and I really hope Fractured will achieve that!

RE: Can beastmen have shapeshifting?
Yes, all races of Beastmen can shapeshift into their own animal form, each one with its perks, but it's not something baseline: there will be a sort of quest to unlock that ability.

You'll need to buy the game in order to play, but then is free.
If you want you can get a VIP subscription that will grant you cosmetic items, but nothing that can give you an advantage over other players (just aestethic stuff). -

I don't think they've been stated yet, but I belive that they'll not be tremendously high.
