I'm re-reading the Mistborn Trilogy for like the 5th time.

RE: Disappointed
The target of an Alpha release it's to test the basic of the game to ensure that the most easy things work properly so that more complex features may be added safley.
With time everything will be implemented and tested out, but step by step is the right way to grant quality in every aspect. -
RE: Real Crafting
It's indeed nice the idea that crafting in some peculiar (and dangerous) places should at last give some extra properties to the items: creating a sword in a forge powered by the lava core of a volcano in a smoldering zone filled with fire elementals, instead that at the safe forge of a city, should at last craft a blazing flame sword with some extra fire damage attached to it!
Maybe also adding exotic materials during the crafting process could give some additional properties and so on.I would for sure prefer such things than an extra minigame that after the 10th time would be boring and repetitive, considering that crafting will be (probably) a massive time consuming occupation since the entire economy is driven by players themselves and everything must be produced.
Also a skilled crafter should get additional bonus (less materials consumed or less time or something like that) when crafting low/mid tier items: if he's a master he won't find any difficulties in creating such things.

RE: How many channels will there be if implemented?
Sharding is needed if the poplutaion will be so massive that it may become impossibile to find resources because every zone will be filled with people all around.
If that is not the scenario, than sharding is something that is simply not needed otherwise the world will seems empty with people spread into low populated istances of the same zone instead of being all on the same. -
RE: WoW Classic is coming
I've played WoW since its day one untill the end of Cataclysm as an hardcore player into several top ranking guild on the Italian community.
Vanilla was amazing because everything was new, almost no one had the knowledge and all the world and istances were there to explore. The mechanics of bosses were pretty boring and simple if you look at them backward, things get more serious with AQ40 and Naxx but MC and BWL are just time sinking holes (and the majority of players cannot even overcome them).
The real issue were you needed a massive guild to make progress: 40-men raids requires at last 60 active members constantly on par with equip, knowledge, consumables and the like. For a casual player's point of view, imho, Vanilla was pretty terrible with tons of content locked out because it requires too much time for farm what it was needed and most of all a decent, big, group of other really dedicated players.
Many people that are overly excited for those Classic servers will probably find out how plain flat was that and how much everything was simple overly time-consuming. The real fun was experiencing that massive world with many of the amazing communities that were born back there.
Something that now will never be possible again. -
RE: Game at this stage
Many aspect of Fractured recall those of UO: persistent housing, massivly sandbox, non linear progression, not (or at last very few) NPC-driven quest, economic and politic system in the hands of players, Taming, worlds divided by PvP/PvE gameplay (like Trammel and Felucca) and so on.
But the game offer also many different things, it's not just a clone or an updated version of Ultima Online: if you take a look around the news page, the wiki or the forum itself you'll find plenty of infos.

RE: Ultima Online
Uo brings back good old memories. Lots of memories, since I've played it from almost the beginning until the 5th expansion (that was Age of Shadows, the one before Samurai Empire).

RE: Stretch Goals
While new stretch goals are indeed a good way to keep the money flowing, a proper Taming system will requires some really hard work to be implemented: different kind of animals, different stat, different abilities, different needs for each one (food, training time, etc.) and so on.
It something that probably will take lots of resources so I don't know how much "spare time" may be left for other big new things.

RE: Order/Chaos Alignments.
The Karma system is what you're looking for: your behaviors about NPC and other players will increase or drecrease your Karma. Based on your Karma level there will be consequences.
You can find some more detailed infos here: FEATURE SPOTLIGHT #6 – PVP, ALIGNMENT & CRIME

RE: The End of most Sandbox PVP Games-The losing side.
While I understand that at this point nothing is settled, I think it's really good that the Devs team is aware of this "issue" and have already some idea on how manage it.
Keep it up with the good job guys!

RE: The End of most Sandbox PVP Games-The losing side.
@Gothix Sorry man but what are you saying is good only on paper: you cannot force the majority of players to just avoid to group up because you think that in that way they are carebears.
As you said, people will almost always search for the fast and easy solution and in a sandbox game being a member of a massive guild is the way.
In the end it's in the hand of the Devs: do they want Fractured to be a game where few massive guilds fight between them or where you have tons of little group trying to gain control of local resources? Whatever choice they'll make, someone will be pleased and someone else will not so everything is just all down on what they want to game to be.

RE: The End of most Sandbox PVP Games-The losing side.
If the issue is just the sheer numbers and the advantage of having a massive guild controlling almost everything, than just put a cap on how many members each group may have.
That should be pretty low, like 20 or 30 or 40.To control an enormous amount of resources the players will then rely on alliance between guilds, instead of just merging into a giant one. But alliances may shift now and then during time, avoiding the staleness and creating new opportunity for every group to get a chance for claim new lands.

RE: The End of most Sandbox PVP Games-The losing side.
Strenght in number is the most logical way to get a dominant position and keep it. You cannot avoid it, expecially in a sandbox game like Fractured.
A bigger guild will provide protection, access to multiple resources, large safe areas where travel and many cities where you can trade and so on. It's the obvious choice to join it unless you want to go rogue. The only, cluncky, way I can think to avoid this scenario is to put a limit to the PvP invasion: instead of an open world event, you have an istanced fight with a cap to how many people per faction can join. That way you will reduce the impact of having a massive guild by limiting their influence only on the nodes' control (resource gathering), while spreading the control of different cities among smaller groups.
But I don't know if such system may work in the end.

Thanks guys, really appreciated.

RE: Idea for the Game: Player Beacons
It will be nice if, into each city, people could put their merchant only in a restricted common area - like a market place. Everyone who go there should be able to walk around looking at each different shop and decide what to buy.
There may be only a limited number of slot in each market and the price to buy one for X days may increase or decrease considering how appealing and big is the city itself. That way when a specific city market is full people will be encouraged to move around to other places to offer their goods, creating more opportunity for everyone to travel, explore and meet others.

RE: Scroll of teleportation 🌀⏳
Traveling is, imho, one of the core aspect of Fractured: the difficulties and the risks that a long journey implies requires a certain setup and preparation from players (the right equipment for the environment, food, tools and so on).
Adding the option for teleporting around doesn't sound so good, even if it's random or it may lead to secret location (if that was the scenario than some place may be find only by pure luck, without any chance for the majority to ever be there).

RE: What part of the game is most intriguing to you all
The concept of a non-linear progression that avoid the experience gain/level up system, combined with an itemization tied to the crafting system instead of simply dropping equipment pieces from mobs. Also housing and an economic system driven by players only.
I really hope that Taming will be reached as goal.

RE: What is called human transform for Beastman?
Usually Lich are assosiacted with Evil because in mostly scenarios a powerfull mage decide to bargain with evil powers to obtain immortality in a fast way.
But on D&D classic lore (just to name the more "canon") also Neutral and Good aligned chars can become Lich, but the process requires tons of research and efforts in order to be achieved. On Fractured universe it seems a good choice for the Humans, imho.

RE: [Community Talk] What makes you quiet?
Actually there is no such big infos to talk about here and almost every known aspect of the game as already been discussed in depth.
I'm sure that when Alpha 1 will start and tons of new footage and news will be released this board will be filled with new and interesting topics. -
