@finland hehe funny and cool. But ingame machanicwise that will still be an ability/skill that requires a shield in your inventory to activate. Same as a fire spell that is an aoe cone in front of you.

@slimeborn78 First take a look at how your loot/gear will be in this game.
Your armor/weapons is all crafted. No epic/legendary gear is dropped from bosses. Gear is situational and doesn't offer any power gaps.
Try to see your gear more as "consumables" and not like a fixed part of your character that you might loose upon death.
If your endurance in combat reaches 0 you are knocked down. Your inventory can then be stolen if I'm correct (consequences are different for demon/beastman/human). If then your health reaches 0 then you are death and your armor and weapons can be taken (again the consequence depends on race and alignment).

@dulu more like WoW I think, extra armor piece with maybe certain abilities that require shield to use, like for example "shieldbash - causes 3 second stun"

I expect that in this game I really have to explore
I expect that I have to survive in the open world, my journey might lead to my death (of hunger, thirst, cold, dehydration, sickness and ofc lots of violence)
I expect that I don't have a grind spot and don't have to do dailies
And I'm pretty up-to-date with all the gamecontent of Fractured

@finland yeah expect it to be a bumpy road, because small studio's don't have to manpower to quickly deal with the issue of "remove 3 bugs, create 900 new bugs". Blizzard does. They are one of the biggest players on the market, if not the biggest of all.

@finland Name one game that had a devellopment path that was good and went well since kickstarter or (pre-)alpha.
Games that got announced between closed and open beta don't count. That was the old way with WoW clones. Nothing innovative.

@benseine dude they are not fixing they are just adding secondary feature (bugged) Everytime I reported something the answer from devs was "Do not worry it will be fixed for the beta version" shit we are in pre-alpha. Talking about in game content.

Been in (pre-)alpha games since 2013 or so. It's always like that.
Yeah SC might take a long time. Was planning to pick it up a couple of months ago. But then I saw news that they announced a revamp on all weapons in the game... think they hit another problem that causes them to take a few steps back.

@finland well that is not really fair. In game devellopment you can stumble upon a problem that causes you to go back. And update can remove 3 bugs but create 900 new ones. Didn't they say in a news bulletin that they reached a cap ingame that causes trouble?
I've seen stuff like this in several games. Worse one was in The Repopulation. Wasn't even their fault. The company behind the Hero engine went bankrupt, so they couldn't work with that engine anymore. That sat them back big time. But they are still progressing in the game, step by step.
Star Citizen had this several times too.
No major changes between januari and june doesn't mean they didn't deal with alot of stuff.

RE: Scared of all this hype, but also really hyped at the same time.
If I can PvP with what I saw in the gameplay video and have +400 spells/skills to choose from, and I don't have to grind, then I will be really happy. That will be even more once I start:
- building guild settlement
- invade other planets (evil demon here)
- siege other guilds
Is that too much to ask for? I think not

I'm hoping there is a temporary passive life leeching spell in necromancy. Wanna try out some theorycrafting with it.
