Feature Spotlight #2 - Universe, Planets and Travels
-
Hi @Prometheus, @Specter and Fractured community,
I know this thread is quite old but I am new to Fractured and to understand everything I am reading through the game website and foruns. I was reding the Feature Spotlight #2 (Universe, etc), very nice BTW, and some doubts came to mind, some of which I could not find an answer in the forum.
For example, knowing that the game have eclipses, seasons, day/night cycles, and temperature variations according to location, etc, do the game simulate Diurnal Temperature Variation? How many seasons the planets have, four? Concerning the eclipses, since they can last many days, are you going to consider the temperature drop during eclipse and its influence in gameplay?Lastly, just for curiosity, does the Elysium System looks like this?
Grazie mille.

Everything including the Sun orbits around Arboreus

Hi @Yitra,
Sorry to say but that is not true.
Unless, of course, the developers change their mind later on. You can read in The Elysium System description from Spotlight #2: "After the Fracture, the One Planet, Elysium, was split into the three worlds you should be already familiar with: Arboreus, Syndesia and Tartaros. Put into motion by the same magic that created them, they started revolving around the sun, giving birth to a proper solar system that was to be known as the Elysium System."

I LOVE the update!
I really love time cycles, It really adds to realism, and complete atmosphere of the world.
Plant ground design (resource availability) really fits in with the lore, and "class" availability for races as well.
Some survival elements are really nice to have too, for this type of game. You can not just roam around and endlessly fight, often tactics and preparation will determine victor, and not only playing skills, specially in larger scale fights. Politics will be super important as well.

I freaking love when games add more depth to the world around their game. Thats why lore is so great, but this kinda stuff is the best
