The game is being developed for computers running Windows, macOS and Linux. While support for all these three operating systems is planned to be available on full release, it is possible that only Windows support will be available during alpha / beta. Clarifications on this issue will be released when the game approaches its first testing phases.

why would development resources be spent so less than 500 people can have a native client?
It looks like Unreal and spatialOS both support linux but that doesn't mean the developers will spend the resources to support it. I'm pretty sure Unreal is being used for the client, so I could be mistaken on that.

@jetah The devs use Unity, not Unreal. Also, the FAQ did say that Fractured is being developed for Linux as well.
