I was unable to link my account after buying the game on steam. Wasn't able to get any help. I finally changed my Fractured account password to something simpler, and was able to link. Apparently my password had a character that prevented the link, but there was NO feedback at all. Just nothing, after the link attempt. Also, my complex password was fine for my Fractured account.

Just bought the game on Steam. I try to link my Fractured account and nothing happens. The link button is cannot be pressed any more. To try again, I need to quit and restart.
should I just start a new fractured account? Would prefer not to.

Alts
Are people really going to have lots of alts?
If I understand the system correctly, this game is a bit like FFXIV in that your character can easily switch between builds (classes). Yes, you start out with a fighter build, or a mage build, but you should be able to get enough knowledge points to get lots of skills and whatever, and have probably three or so complete build options, all on your single character. So I don't think you need multiple characters for different builds.
However, you may wish to have 3? Start as a beastman, human and demon. I guess that is one reason to have 3 builds. But I'm not sure how that will work out. Can your characters join different guilds? Can you play enough to support three characters, each contributing to their town?
Just not sure how it works right now.

RE: The Potential City Problem.
I tend to be a completionist, so like to have some kind of way to acquire all the resources directly in other games. So like the OP I am somewhat worried about this one resource, one city approach. But, unlike the OP I am willing to see how it plays out.
I don't think we'll have that many people having multiple accounts, or see people city hopping. Trade will be forced. You can't just "join" a city willy nilly. Cities have maintenance, and mayors are going to want to have citizens that support the city. Any city whose mayor immediately accepts all applications and ends up with a rotating population will not last long.
My fear is that some resources will be much more valued than others. Metal over wood or something like that. It will be up to the developers/designers of the game to see that all resources are valuable.
Also I am not sure what happens to resources in an area where no one has founded a city? Perhaps in this case, anyone can come and mine the resource, since there is no city to control it.

RE: Sound settings need to be applied earlier
Thanks for the info, I'll start using that. However, sound setting SHOULD be applied at the character selection screen.
-
Sound settings need to be applied earlier
I usually have my windows volume all the way up and turn down the volume in each application as necessary. While this ensures that I can hear things if an application has a low volume, it means that my ears get blasted occasionally. Fractured blasts my ears unnecessarily.
When I start Fractured, the sound in the settings is NOT applied even after the character screen is shown. One must select a character (or go though the long process of creating one) while the sound (in my case) blasts away. It isn't until after you begin to enter the game with your selected character that the sound setting is applied.
Please apply the sound setting before the character selection screen is shown, and as early as possible before that.

Nheedra (blacksmith) looking for guild
I'll be playing a Nheedra, who is somewhat perverse. He likes working with metals. So as I understand it, he'll have to go to Syndesia to at least get metals, take the metals back to Arboreus to work with them. Or if it is impossible to have some of the necessary crafting tables on Arboreus, then work with a town on Syndesia to get access to the blacksmith tables.
I would like my home to be on Arboreus, but would have to travel frequently to Syndesia because of my unusual (blasphemous?) interest in metals.
So looking for a Beastman guild that would have such a Nheedra. I would usually have some kind of tank build. I could also work as a go between, (diplomat?) between the Beastman guild and a town/guild on Syndesia.

Worried for the country house
Some people will prefer to build their houses in the country instead of in a town. I am a bit worried about them, because they will need access to towns to get access to advanced crafting tables. So what if someone builds a country house, develops it as much as possible then realizes they need access to an advanced crafting table. Off they go to a town, but that town's mayor has set all the crafting tables in the town residents only. Off they go to another nearby town and its the same thing. Now what is he to do? All his work may have gone to waste as he has to travel far to find someone that allows him access to a crafting table. They give up their plot, try to move to a plot nearer a town that allows access, but get tired of doing everything all over and quit the game.
Not sure what the solution is, I'm just not sure that restricting advanced crafting tables to towns is the way to go.

RE: Plans for Enchanting?
Actually I did build a house, and did not have problem with that. I found trying to fill all the enchantment slots of light armor and a staff much harder. I realize that my first enchantments won't be the most powerful, but just figuring out the enchantment system and experimenting with it, while interesting, too much longer than building a house. What I think would be nice is that your initial cotton armor have fewer enchantment slots making the work a bit easier, and then the spider silk armor have the full slot number.
Also, I seem to have an excess of knowledge points, perhaps some should be used to more slowly unlock all the enchantment recipies?

RE: Basic mechanics. Campfire, fight, grind and camera.
As far as the other issues the op had, I think that trees and view during combat are the most troubling. A tree just takes up too much space making it very hard to click underneath it. You only need to make the center trunk area clickable for a tree.
Getting attacked by someone off screen is very frustrating. I need to be able to get a wider view or something.

RE: Elusive - Casual Beastman Guild
Got a chance to play the alpha and just sent a join guild request.

Plans for Enchanting?
I like the enchanting system, however I do not like how you learn it.
Assume I'm a newb, and have just created some light armor. Suddenly I have space for LOTS of enchanting. Assuming I have access to an Enchanting table I am presented with an overload of information. Once I figure it out, I have a choice.
1 - Spend the next few days doing nothing but gathering resources, to create as many enchantments as you can
2 - Get tired of that and go out for some serious exploration/fighting without all the enchantment slots on your armor filled.
The second option seems kinda stupid. "Let me go out and possibly get in dangerous situations with armor that could be better, if I just had more patience."
Its hard to ask a character to spend so much time enchanting when very new to the game. I hope there is some kind of progression planned... you have to spend knowledge or something to get more enchanting options... something. Something that would allow a character to improve his armor as much as he can now without spending so much time on it all at once.

RE: Some logs from chopped trees aren't klickable
I just ran into this problem today. I see it's an old problem that hasn't been addressed, so I'll activate the thread again. I'll try knocking the logs next time.

RE: Basic mechanics. Campfire, fight, grind and camera.
As far as campfires are concerned, I would suggest that they are just too hard to build. The stones are too hard to find. I can't imagine a real life situation where a person would have the wood and kindling, but be unable to start a fire because of a lack of stones. It just doesn't make sense. I have build many a campfire, and clearing an area around the fire is much more important than any stone. Using that many stones, actually makes the campfire into something more like a stove.
