RE: Kick Starting the In-Game Economy?
The best planned gaming economy tanks when the masses get to it. The fastest and best thought out reactions win the day. I have seen some amazingly well planned out games go full toilet flush in just the first week, people will exploit the darndest things, and stuff you never never planned to hold value will, and the things you thought will be hoarded will be blown off entirely. A seriously rigorous beta can help but it also works in favor of those looking to find and profit from a exploit. Keeping a watchful eye on economic trends closer to launch can also help, but again... the masses do the darndest things, and when you say that the game is live and no more wipes is when people go full throttle on those exploits.
A good plan is a great start, getting ready to tackle the issues that arise is where you will make or break the game!

.... it all depends on the loot you know. If I got to burn the world to get my fiery sword... well I guess I need to find some matches. Its true though... and watch out because if its a good sword... you can almost smell the digital fires a burning!

RE: Dungeons
I enjoy a romp in a dungeon just like the rest, but I do think that most dungeons should be group play. Dungeons should be the hard mode for the game and getting more difficult the deeper into the dungeon you go. I do not mind at all if the entry area of a dungeon is soloable, it should be, let you see what to expect, get a feeling for the place. As soon as you cross that bridge or go down that tunnel.... you better have trustworthy backup!

Each weapon type needs to be viable, I hate to see games where everyone ends up with the same weapons because they are the only weapons that work. My favorite weapon in EQ was the thorn whip... it was just viable for 3 or 4 levels and never seen again. Sad.

RE: Player Run Cities and You
Defense quests that solo players can play that are scripted, the more quests that are completed the safer that area becomes. This way unused places become dungeons, needing to be cleared by new players as they progress. While the area is active new content is being introduced to the players, the more active the more varied the missions. Areas being used build up visible defenses. This way players determine what area becomes the central hub.

RE: Whats your favorite character Class to play on your first Character
I have always loved to play a warrior class myself. I love the armor and sword and shield upgrade line, nothing makes you feel stronger than progressing from leather to chain to scale to plate better than a warrior. The ability to have single hand weapon and a shield or a 2 handed weapon for massive damage also allows for varied game play without an entire class reset. I also like getting up close to see the monsters vs standing back, its just more exciting to be their primary target. Then after getting to know the world I pick up a hunter class for straight up massive dps.

What will be the primary "motivator" for going into dungeons or fighting dangerous monsters? Games such as Diablo it was all about the loot, some games had rare spells and others it was all about the reputation. Where does Fractured stand?

How deeply tied are you to your god of choice.... examples - Will you be able to change religion once you pick one? Is their a bonus for staying true to the role playing aspect of your religion?

What bonuses will players have for teaming up and forming guilds outside of just being social and a easy pool to get a group together? Will the "larger the guild the better your chances" rule apply or do you have any plans to help the smaller guilds stand a chance in the harsh wilds?

Role Playing is still around. I almost always make one full RP character, I am going to admit that its not the most played but it is nice to escape the grind and just be fun.

Sometimes it takes me off guard, to me anything with computers is current, I have had multiple consoles dating back to the original pong, so when I talk about Diablo the original its hard to think that there are college students that were born after its release. I take it for granted that I was able to play the progression of the genre as it came. It is wondrous to think what the future holds for gaming, now back to playing Orbus in VR.

I didn't know it but after checking it out Diablo III is among the best selling games of all time selling over 30 million copies. I can see why, talk about a game that has gotten quite a bit of love since its launch in 2012 (best selling game that year). That is quite the market to tap into!
