Depends on what the endgame is.
Also, each planet is like it's own separate game.
Beast planet will be like runescape. (full of skillers)
Demon planet like ultima online. (gankbox)
Human planet like BDO. (guild vs guild drama)

RE: Community Call - YouTubers You Know
@houseofamberly. Anything that smells bad will turn him off.
Retro/outdated concepts are seen as bad by younger audience. He crucified legends of aria for catering to 40+ year old audience only but respectfully refrained from giving the final pros & cons. If you aren't the target audience, then you shouldn't be grading it, and he gets it.Fevir is the CORRECT person for this.
MMObyte is the junkfoody/clickbaity flashy channel with little substance.
LazyPeon is OK, but Fractured needs to be confident. -
RE: System controlled caravans.
@Kniknack, Depends on how it's implemented Remember that we are always limited by inventory space and when you go raiding, you probably won't bring a wagon with you. So whatever REWARD you get from this MINIGAME, it definitely won't saturate the market, just provides an alternative resource gathering method.
-
RE: System controlled caravans.
This was already mentioned by devs somewhere, that caravans will starts from random points at random times.
I understand this may not align with the whole sandbox idea, but leaving everything in player hands is a bad idea too. I don't want total anarchy, monopoly or dictatorship. My point is, don't let people run wild cuz it will just break the game for others.
I absolutely love the idea of caravans as a MINIGAME. Not necessarily player resources, escort missions, even if no playerkillers attack, we can have disasters, monster attacks, etc. -
RE: Quests for classes
There are races, sub-races and racial inclinations, since people are squeamish about using the word classes :). You can have quests for those. But it just seems strange having quests in a sandbox game in general, where everything is expected to be player-driven, quest lines just seem not applicable where you don't have NPCs. Maybe missions? Mission from whatever god you worship, or any other NPC.

RE: Mail & COD
Good point from Target, but need to learn to compromise. Of course we shouldn't be able to mail a wagon of wood. Mail should be limited by weight and number of items. The weight may increase a bit the longer we've known a person. Gotta control all that chinese government-sponsored mmo gold farming you know.

RE: This game will be p2w?
Oh! It also depends on whether there will be pre-beta and at least pre-Live data wipes. If there is no wipe, all the people who bought these packs will have a big heads up with skills and gear on new players. General game knowledge advantage should be enough.
-
RE: Crafting - Cooking
Nope. Don't think these guys are making a sandbox for psychopaths and serial killers, for a "legal" way to play out their fantasies.
-
RE: This game will be p2w?
Now, increased knowledge points gain looks like pay2win in my eyes, regardless of progression type. But depends on increase % as well.
- VIP MEMBERSHIP? WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?
VIP membership is a monthly subscription planned to be priced around $10/month. It provides the following perks:
Discounts on Store items
Unique cosmetic rewards for accumulated VIP time
Other vanity rewards we might think of in the future
Additional study slots
Increased Knowledge Point gains - VIP MEMBERSHIP? WHAT'S THAT ABOUT?

RE: Special weekly market
@tulukaruk Well it's a moving "rare" merchant I think the idea can get away with it. Imagine some hooded npc selling you a dragon egg for a few coins in a tavern. Won't happen every day of course but it's cool to have these random events.
-
RE: Special weekly market
Traveling merchant with uncommon materials - cool. Introduces a new mechanic as well, I see PKers just camping and monopolizing the resource. So it can appear on all planets once a day, travel through by foot or use gates to teleport from location to location.

RE: Pinatas, catatonia, and Montgomery Scott (or what matters the most to me in MMOs)
I've seen posts where it is said wildlife will have "alignment" just like players. Some will be peaceful, and you lose karma for killing. Some are aggressive and you gain karma. Seeing a pasture or a den of some sort of animal type is common, even in reality. Now, entering a dungeon and seeing a group of mobs in a static boss-minion formation, that's not cool. But Fractured should be ok since its not an instanced asian mmo.

RE: Game Mechanics I want to see
Don't see how this can be done in an isometric top-down game, which it should stay. Aiming at limbs - you need 3rd person view. For hooks you need fully unlocked rotatable camera, plus that may be plagiarizing a bit?

Spotlight concerns about balance/class locking
Would like to get more info on:
- Are racial attributes trainable?
- Are racial attributes rerollable?
- If 1 or 2 were yes, then skip. Otherwise: we do have soft "classes". If i dump all my points into dexterity but then get tired of being an archer, i will not be able to reroll into an optimal mage/melee. We have all these skills available but only some will have a punch and it's permanent. Hope there will be a mechanic to change abilities.
- Meleer and mages have no ammo. Mana is not permanently lost ammo. I just hope that there will be no unfairness towards archers by having to craft arrow stacks and permanently lose on use. Would be ok to have all quivers magically "replenish" arrows, basically simulate mana. Or quivers preincluded with a large pool of arrows that you have to replace only every couple of days of heavy usage.
- There is already a thread for this but just want to mention here. I hope that no class imbalance arises from mages having Intelligence as their bread and butter when intelligence is already used for learning ability.

Weave Fracture cataclysm, Elysium lore into exploration
Would be cool to have game lore about origins of gods, previous civilisation and events that led to Fracture. It could be mythology driven, like all gods were in unity overseeing the previous world, and then the classic betrayal.. Or it can be technology/society driven, some off-the-rails warring faction unleashed some tech with minor involvement from gods. And now the gods divided remaining celestial bodies between each other and heavily influenced evolution. Original civilisation was very much human-like.
Lore can be in form of relics, artefacts, places of knowledge, found in ruins and caves you have to explore. Would also be cool to have visual manifestations of remnants of the previous world: cave drawings, skyscaper in the middle of a forest, bridge that used to be a tower. An example of recovered technology is stargates. Each piece of gained lore may be out of order but independent/general enough we can enjoy the story out of sequences, like diary entries. Each increasing our knowledge points of course.
This kind of literature always gives me chills, like your known origin came after something else and you gradually discover what happened before, why it happened, and how to stop it now. Metroid, chronicles of shannara, wheel of time, etc.

RE: Voluntary PVP
Good number of people would like to PvP but not lose items. It's normal.. Games have PvP arena leaderboards for that. But another reason here would be - lack of desire to impact alignment. If 2 beastmen wanna have a match for fun, they will need to do 3 unwanted things:
- they both have to switch to neutral alignment
- go out to pvp-enabled zone
- and lose karma there.

RE: 4th planet of angelics: harsh PVE, banned PVP.
@eurav
I caught up on the spotlights.
Good humans can last only 20/40 hours on Beast planet..
Angels is TDB.
Was hoping you could settle permanently and join guilds/activities outside of your race as long as alignment matches.#6:
"Indeed, only Humans with Good alignment are allowed to walk the lands of Arboreus for a considerable amount of time – 20/40 real-world hours, thus being able to explore a good portion of the world at once, collecting resources and acquiring knowledge." -
RE: 4th planet of angelics: harsh PVE, banned PVP.
@needlehawk
"One other interesting thing is that Prometheus has said that raiding will only occur on the 2 PVP planets. So that sounded to me like true raids won't be possible even in the non-Good areas on Arboreus."Hold on, by raiding you mean endgame dungeon raiding or pvp plundering?
if 1, how can we have a PVE planet with no PVE endgame.
If 2, makes sense i suppose.1 more question, can Good-aligned humans or angels visit non-PvP areas of Arboreus or even permanently settle on it? I mean, let's not discriminate based on race but discriminate based on alignment Gotta work out all these immigration laws and travelling visas you know.

RE: 4th planet of angelics: harsh PVE, banned PVP.
Alright, thanks everyone. Let's see how beast planet fares. Planet 4 with safe minigame PVP is in suggestion box and poll is for population estimates. Humans don't look too good
-
RE: 4th planet of angelics: harsh PVE, banned PVP.
Focus of idea is on PVP ban, not harsh PVE. In a way it's my search into whether the game is intended to be a playground for douchebags to leech off and ruin the game for players that actually build and progress society.
If there will be a mechanism to bar demons from roaming on beast planet, like some permanent player built barrier, that's fine as well. Harsher PVE is just a candy on a stick, like you are quietly finishing then boom, a kraken emerges and you have a co-op PVE event. But essentially yes, planet 4 is a copy of beast planet minus open PVP.
