PvP camping of the Legendary spawn points is not exactly to be encouraged anyway. Yes, it will happen, but any little things the game can do to discourage it from being a regular accepted thing is a plus in my book.

RE: Meridian's Spring 2021 Alpha test feedback - OPEN DISCUSSION ENCOURAGED!
@LonelyCookie Also, and I know this is a hard one, but you have to realize that not everyone is going to be able to Alpha test every aspect of the game.
Yes, I'm a huge proponent for the Solo'ist player, the Weekender, etc... but when it comes to short term Alpha Testing, if you can't budget more than about 2 hrs a week into the Alpha Test, obviously things like managing a Residence are not going to be easily possible solo for you.
The test only lasts a month, the best you might hope for, if you don't grind to specifically cover your house upkeep, is to earn the money by week 3 or 4, and then buy your house for the short term benefit/experience.
Some people will test everything the game has to test, but those people will be the ones putting in 8-12+ hrs a day into testing. Some people will really kick the tires on 2 or 3 of the mechanical enhancements and find quite a few bugs, but it all depends on what direction they take their play experience.
Just remember that there's a big difference between the experience your going to have in an AlphaTest or BetaTest, and the experience the game will offer once full release comes about.

RE: Meridian's Spring 2021 Alpha test feedback - OPEN DISCUSSION ENCOURAGED!
My sister bought her plot of land, and then we grinded out 4k to put in for upkeep right away, as we knew the Alpha would be about 1 month. It's not really that hard to pull off that much if you go after zombies, skeletons, Goblins, and Ice/Forest Trolls

RE: Aesthetics of the game.
They've said on numerous occasions that the completed Biomes are not fully textured out yet, and this is mostly placeholder textures. Some I'm sure they will keep, but there will be diverse textures in the finished product.

RE: Suggestion: Invisible armour
They wouldn't go for that. The visual representation of the armor is a clue as to if someone is equiped or a noob on a corpse run. It also shows what level armor they have, which is easily identified.

RE: Enchanting bugged
You can fail with the same recipe 10 times in a row before succeeding. It's all up to the RNG gods

RE: Suggestion for Joining / Leaving Cities
@spoletta Might sound a touch callous here, but, they should have paid attention to where they applied, shouldn't they have?

RE: New Player - suggestions

I should be able to right-click an item to move to/from storage
They don't want to quicken some click-intensive things on purpose
I should be able to loot enemies even if they are piled ontop of each other
They are working on this, you can loot the undercorpses, but it's tough to do so
The map should make it more obvious what areas I cannot walk - those impassible walls are almost impossible to see in the minimal
This is on purpose, so that if you go off-roads/paths, you have to realize sometimes it will require either really knowing the area yourself, or a lot of doubling back. Same reason they don't want the teleport spells to bypass cliffs
The CARTS. Please please give us the ability to remove carts that are on our property that we do not own. It's way too easy to troll properties right now.
You should be able to do this already, if not, message @Spectre
Why can't I store raw ore inside of chests? It's just gonna force us to make a ton of carts.
Because raw ore is considered a Heavy item, and heavy items don't go in backpacks or chests, there is a separate Ore Storage that towns can get, but not private residences.
Why does the map not default to centered on the player?
That's a QoL thing that will probably be fixed sometime before the release of the game, but is considered super low priority when you can just hit the Center Map button on the sidebar.
Why is the player 'compass' icon thing in the minimal gray? Gray on dark green and gray is very hard for some of us to see.
Never even noticed the compass, right now, with no camera panning, up is North, simple enough standard anyway.
Why do I have to re-slot my skills after resting if the skills haven't changed?
You only have to reslot skills if you rememorize your Skill preset, you do not have to rememorize unless you've added/changed out skills in that memorization set.
and to @Krathic
Arrows quality affects accuracy and damage.
Tooltips getting stuck is an ongoing concern, unfortunately, you fix one thing, and things like this come back as a result, that's why we Alpha
They already mentioned the bug that if you combine stacks of arrows, all arrows become the same quality, if you combine them the right way, you can end up with all Excellent Quality arrows. The house purchase and change material functions are not completely intuitive for new players, but hopefully, when the game actually goes live, the 'starter quests' will walk people through some of this too.

Actually, Prometheus was quoted as saying 33% goes to the city, 33% to the Bounty Hunter, and 33% was 'taxed' away. He said if he had said it was a 50/50 split, he was mistaken. Don't remember the thread.

RE: Moving – New Land Parcel Not Allowed
That Wiki does specify another city or in the wilderness, which means you probably can't move plots within the same City region, which is what you wanted to do, I'm thinking.

RE: Meridian's Spring 2021 Alpha test feedback - OPEN DISCUSSION ENCOURAGED!
I know I've been a rather vocal advocate for the game keeping in several of their more tedious, click intensive routines in game, but even I think that the Packaging Center is a bit much at 5 clicks to move a single bag from the station to the Cart/Wagon.
How about for City Storage facilities, the Packaging Station, the Food Warehouse, City Hall, and the Market, they are interconnected, so you can automatically move items from the Packaging Station en masse to the Warehouse, or to Town Hall, or to the Market?
Same could then be done for the Stone, Wood, Coal, and Ore storage facilities, they would automatically load into their given Crafting Stations in town, thus refined 'planks' need not become a light commodity.
Now, packaging stations outside of a city would still require moving goods manually into town, however, make it so you click on the 'Flat Bed/Stack' side of the packaging center and it opens up the Storage, and it stays open, and you can then drag and drop the bags into your cart or wagon until full.
Systems that work together, make sense, and add some convenience, without taking away the other time sinks that are also a part of the game in other areas. Still no Loot All buttons, No Transfer All into your inventory, but maybe a button that auto-sorts into stacks would be nice too.
@PeachMcD Yes, the Tip Jar idea was one I put forth in another thread, and I still agree with its concept. If you do something like set your house near a danger zone and set your hearth and such to usable by others, keep a chest with some basics in it for those in wayward need, etc... a TipJar is a fine way to show gratitutde to the keeper of said homestead for the roadside hospitality.

I am a nerd with an unusual affinity for picking up really heavy things. I am a large guy with a large beard and I look like I may have just walked off the set of Vikings.
Did I write this profile...I get called Gandalf, and Santa a lot, but I also pass for a Viking myself, and slung some heavy steal working the Carnival and Circus circuit in the 90s.
Welcome aboard. I got my start on UO, but was mostly enamored of EverQuest before Planes of Power nerfed it (I was a Beta Tester for EQ, I'm even credited in the original rulebook)

RE: Meridian's Spring 2021 Alpha test feedback - OPEN DISCUSSION ENCOURAGED!
I agree with most of this as well. Unlike spoletta, I'm even on board as to making harbors and other forms of continental fast travel a no-go. Harbors in my opinion should really only be for moving from one continent to another, and that's it. As each planet will have 3 continents, there does need to be a good in-game method of transcontinental travel, but coastal travel shouldn't be included, unless they actually have to take the voyage on a schedule, and the ship can be attacked by Sea Trolls and Kraken and things like that. Make it risky in its own regard or leave it out.
City size definitely needs to be bigger, potentially, but I feel that some of it should be 'roped off' in game until a city makes sufficient rank to expand that far.
As far as Food Scarcity goes, I think it is important to remember that Crop Rotation is part of the agricultural aspect of the game. If you plant a batch of let's say Wheat at 150% potential yield, every time that patch gets below 50% irrigation, that percentage should go down, AND once harvested, that plot should barely be able to sustain Wheat until a rotation crop has been planted there. Each crop type should have 1-2 crops that it rotates with, and even something like Clover, that doesn't give you anything, could be used to reinvigorate the soil.
I wholeheartedly agree with regards to Marketplaces and Global Wallets. Marketplaces should be a starter building, and Global Wallets should at most encompass a Nation and it's allies' banking system, not the whole continent/world/galaxy

RE: Suggestion for Joining / Leaving Cities
Dropping Citizenship should be an official act requiring you to go to the town hall of the City your dropping. This makes it official and serves notice that you are no longer bound to a city. Just being able to toggle it on or off in the wild makes no sense. It also doesn't fit with the story aspect of the game.

RE: Missing Dried Meat
@Prometheus I'm the only person who has access to that wagon who was online at during the time in question. Only ones who share access are my Sister and my Girlfriend, and they were both online the whole time it happened

Missing Dried Meat
I don't know if this is a bug or something built into spoilage to keep people from storing meat in their wagons, but I had collected 5 bags of dried meat and put them in my wagon, which I left by the packaging station. Then I went and harvested 80 beans and went back to the station and loaded those 4 bags, so I should have had 9 bags of protein to put in the town upkeep (which needed 8 to rank up) and only the 4 bags I just got were in the wagon. Somehow, the 5 bags of dried meat had been deleted somehow from the game, as I said, not sure if this is a bug or a feature of spoilage. @Prometheus

RE: cosmetics
If you mean the Cosmetics you got for your Founder Packs, those don't go into affect until full game release. None of them are available during Alpha or Beta Testing phases.

RE: Death by the Underequipped?
Gear isn't nothing, it is more task specific. You gear up certain ways for certain tasks, and outside of those tasks, the gear has only a partial effect on survivability.

RE: You will respawn in the last city where you rested
@StormBug said in You will respawn in the last city where you rested:
It should be noted that other than to look at the shrine options, I did not interact with the shrine in the southern starter city at all. Therefore, I believe this must be a bug and I was arbitrarily sent to the wrong city.
You don't have to do anything to the Shrine in the Southern City, because you started the game there, you were automatically soul-bound to that city. This interactive text popup hasn't changed in 3 or 4 alphas, pretty much since Homes have been added. However, the new situation, as I understand it ,does in fact require you to interact with a Shrine to rebind to a new location. It used to be sleeping at the Inn, but since the shrine was introduced, that's no longer the case.
I could be wrong, but when I interacted with the Starter City Shrine, it did ask me if I wished to soul-bind to the city (mayhaps not using those exact words) which leads me to believe that is the case now.
Remember, during an Alpha Test, the Pop-up text may not get updated in line with new changes. Updating Pop-up text is lower priority, especially if they may be making multiple different test changes, they may wait to update the Pop-up until they get the final result they are after.
