Experiencing an issue with attempted login during the weekend event.

I'm unable to get into the game for the weekend event. It will get to 40% on load then stop and boot me back to character selection, assuming this to be some sort of time-out. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

What else is happening is, it seems to actually log my character in because it says I have to wait for my character to be logged out of the world, when I attempt to log in after a login attempt.

I just get message a saying the maximum number of concurrent users has been reached and they will be slowly raising thresholds to see when it starts to crash. Hope they start to raise it a bit quicker soon

The servers took a beating during the stress test, making it hard for many people to log in. The server is currently stable but with a login limit. You should be able to log in now assuming the server isn't full. The devs will continue their work on the server tomorrow.

I am currently getting this issue where it gets to the loading screen to about 40%, and then kicks me back to the character select screen.

Constant, same issue for the duration, not managed to get on server once.

Well this is a failure isn't it. Free weekend for all and the servers are offline. Ive not been able to log in at all.

Update: I'm now able to log in to the game, but now I can't do anything. My character loads in and I see people moving around for exactly 1 second then everything disappears except the ground. Nothing else loads in, and I can navigate the windows and map screen. This happens every time I try to play.

I should also point out that the character screen shows a generic male figure with no gear on it, and does not display my name.

I've encountered the same login issue where my character is logged into the server while I'm booted back to the character selection screen. This wouldn't be as upsetting if it didn't happen every time and if my character were simply logged out after a little delay, but that is not the case. I have to wait for a long time before I can try again, and by then, the server cap has been hit.
(Also, it seems like the forum is struggling too right now; I'm assuming due to high traffic from others posting about problems like mine)

this was going to be a test for me to see if I wanted to play it.. and couldn't get on at all, don't think I'll bother tbh.

This was mine as well, so far I haven't been able to try anything to see if this game is for me or not. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow works so I can at least try the game a little bit.

@xeoneex Before they brought the server down this last time, they said the test was over for the weekend. The problem they're having is with SpatialOS, so Improbable's engineers will have to look into it. That won't be happening over the weekend, so the test was supposedly cancelled. I'm not seeing an announcement on the forums, though, so I'm not sure what's up.
ETA: Yeah, looks like it's over. When you try to login now, the message says it's now for backers only again.

Well that sucks, guess I won't know if I like this game and I'm not about to randomly buy it hoping it is. Oh well.

a new free test will be posted as soon as the issue is fixed, just keep an eye on your emails

@xeoneex As Xzoviac mentioned, the devs will host another free weekend after the issues have been fixed.
Prometheus is going to write a post about it tomorrow.
