everyone wants an alpha key but an alpha is an alpha xD can't expect them to have a on-launch server ready for testing issues.

yeah like others have said there is a limited amount of space for people to test games and while you may want to see whats going on. It can be more beneficial to have a direction for your pre-alpha, testers etc. I had a few times where I played pre-alpha games like a release and never came back to them when they actually released. Albion online being a great example of that.
