What race are people going with and why? Do Gods affect your race?

I'm still not sure what I wanna play atm its Demon and don't even know what my God does for my race.

@jekag The game has 3 races: Beastmen PVE, People PVE/PVP and the PVP Demons.
There are 6 gods.
Elysium, which is thought to be the source of Arboreus’ primal energy.
Tyros, god of light and justice.
Nelena, goddess of the wild and mother of all beastmen.
Babilis, an evil god worshipped by the Demons.
Iridia, goddess of fortune and mother of all humans.
Galvanos, god of knowledge and keeper of the nine paths of magic.They are briefly mentioned in this spotlight. Some gods are tied to a specific alignment while others are neutral. Worshipping a god grants access to divine quests, blessings and divine abilities, more on that here.

Gods don't affect your race, they affect your karma and give you different buffs when you pray for them.
My main character is going to be a demon, mostly because they get the highest amount of freedom when it comes to rules, laws and such, and also because it's much easier for them to open portals to other planets than the other races, which gives them a big advantage as scouts and merchants.
