Hi, i've been looking for a discussion about this but didn't found it.
My question its simple;
Wich languages are going to be in the game?
The hispanic comunity its large and normally the games are not translated into spanish.. and its sad to say but, tones of players doesn't play games becouse of this in our comunity..
its a thing to have in mind devs!

I'd suggest offering a language file where the community can translate and use by putting that file into the appropriate location. This saves you/DS from needing to translate the game into countless languages. Or the community votes on which file they want added to the game.

@Jetah It could be a good idea, but we must pay attention to people who can want to messed up with the translation just for fun.

i've seen developers put it in the hands of the community. they community decides which to add into their game. I haven't seen any games where the community can use a translation file but i'm sure there are some programs that did that.
and it's cheaper than hiring a translator. I've seen issues from the community with hired translators. Usually the hired translators try to make it a proper translation which doesn't always work.

The idea is not bad at all but you need someone to verify the translation files. Anyway about my country translation I really hope to see just a partial translation like keeping names of cities, npcs and spells like in English. I really hate the full translation that usually it's done. I mostly play in English for that reason.

@Finland is right, (i loved that name), my country (brazil) is leader in do that, plzz translate the game to portuguese, but not the names of cities and places...

and with a player made file you could do that. it would be easy enough for you to change the parts you want and keep the ones you want. if it were a DS translation, it would be all or nothing.
