Poison spears

I am dragging simple poison paste over my spear and is does not work. Is it a weapon you should be able to poison?

You have to use the https://fractured.gamepedia.com/Poisoning_Strike ability.

@Blectorn I think they are referring to being unable to add poison in the first place to even be able to use that skill.
