RE: July 23 & 24 Double Q&A Livestream
@prometheus thanks for the first of two Q&As yesterday.
Unfortunately, you did not answer my questions yesterday, concerning friendly fire within races and coalitions.
Hope we still get an answer... -
RE: July 23rd Races & Planets Q&A: List Your Questions
My questions concern friendly fire, and I wanted to know if you have reconsidered this topic yet and what your own concerns are, espeially to the following questions:
- Will there be friendly fire in between races, if they form allignments/guilds within their race?
- Will there be friendly fire for beastmen, if they do not team up/form an allignment?
- Can two different races form a coalation? If so, will it affect friendly fire?
PS: Please add friendly fire as much as possible

RE: July 24th Housing & Towns Q&A: List Your Questions

What happens if (eternal KS-)Guild-Govenor turns his/her back on city's political ideal, will everyone else has to change their ideals or need to leave town to "accept" this change?
-
Can citizens start (political) riots to make Govenors leave "earlier" as well or only by votes?
-
Will KS-(Guild-)Govenors reclaim "their" city, after they lost it, due to not being active, when they are back online? In other words: Can KS Govenors lose their title completely or will they always have the possibility to become/stay a Govenor right away if they want to?

RE: why there never a power gap? some questions and suggestion to discuss
That was one of my first concerns as well, but my question was a bit different though:
Would there be a need of crafters, if anyone else can turn into a crafter within one resting phase if he/she likes to do so?
And of course, you can ask this for any other profession as for warriors and mages as well.
Surely, I like the idea of no grinding, but I would also like the idea for at least some commitments as well for a character.
In other words, some decisions should not be revoked for your character build anymore, and I hope it will not just be the cosmetic appearance of the character.I'm really interested in infos about their plans considering abovementioned.

RE: Bit worried where the Kickstarter is
@canterbury at least it looks like we achieve the goal (so far), which did not seem to be achieveable some days ago.

RE: [Discussion] Ingame currency system, what we want to get?
Whatever Ingame-Currency they gonna use/we want to have.
I really hope, that there will be no insane "currency"-inflation going on.In others words, it just kills the atmo, that every piece of equipment costs a huge amount of coins of "one type of currency".
Take Diablo for instance:
Everything drops gold and therefore gold is everywhere. And to purchase average equipment you need to gather tons of gold (which you can easily carry in your backpack...seriously?!)I really hope, they keep a more realistic way, like it was done in ...
Legends of Aria, for example:
There is copper, silver and gold.
100 copper = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 goldIf you loot copper and reach 100, it will not transform into 1 silver until you have been to a bank to exchange.
This means, if you gather "tons" of copper your backpack will be full eventually, so it is wise to exchange your money some time. With that kind of system, it does not feel like a critical inflation is going on.
In LoA to buy a house is not cheap, but "only" requires some Gold (which would be several thousands of Coppers, remember 1 gold equals 10000 copper, again) and this feels more "realistic" in a fantasy/middle-age setting.Hope you get what I'm talking about.

RE: Feature Spotlight #7 - Towns, Governors & Politics
@Prometheus Very interesting news, cannot believe, we really will have "democracy" in MMORPGs finally!!
I also got some questions:
-
What happens if (eternal KS-)Guild-Govenor turns his/her back on city's political ideal, will everyone else has to change their ideals or need to leave town to "accept" this change?
-
What happens in the rare situation if there is a trolling Govenor? Is there also a kick/ban vote needed?
-
Can citizens start (political) riots to make Govenors leave "earlier" as well or only by votes?
-
Will KS-(Guild-)Govenors reclaim "their" city, after the lost it, due to not being active, when they are back online? In other words: Can KS Govenors lose their title completely or will they always have the possibility to become/stay a Govenor right away if they want to?

RE: Reminiscent of Ultima Online ?
@shoebaca you can also have a look in the topic I created several weeks ago New Ultima Online?, where I asked more or less the same question
-
RE: Why is the Kickstarter (almost) failing.
More or less everything got already said in this topic or the other one concerning the same doubt and question.
It is good that devs show more and more content/ideas on their updates, it obviously affects in a good way and more people are interested in funding it.
And I am happy and glad that we get closer to our goal. The only question which is left for me is, why the devs waited until now?
They could have get many more backers if they had released it way earlier, in my opinion.
If it was because the news/infos were not ready yet, I would have waited until they were, before starting my campaign on KS.But that's just taking a guess, I'm sure they had their reasons.

RE: Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed
@prometheus said in Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed:
@holyhong said in Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed:
If I remember correctly, they stated that stretch goals won't implement core mechanics to the game, but aren't fishing and (especially) animal taiming/animal training core features which change gameplay for a lot of people? For example, for someone who plans to create a business with (tamed) animals/pets.
The fact a feature can have a significant impact on gameplay doesn't make it a core feature - otherwise literally anything cool would be a core feature, right?
A core feature is something necessary for the game to work, and/or something that truly "defines" the game. Survival elements, resource gathering and transportation, crafting, building, player-run towns, governors, town wars, guilds, the knowledge system, environmental effects, the three races and planets, these are core features. Fishing and Animal Taming are content
Thanks for your quick reply and definition.
@grofire we're getting a lot since we've published the goals actually!
Happy to hear that, great news!

RE: Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed
@kingexodus said in Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed:
@azazar im pretty sure, these will be added in eventually no matter what, they are just on kick-starter, to be done quicker and top priority list.
I really hope so. Prometheus' answer does not confirm your guess.
If they plan to implement it eventually, why putting out a stretch goal for it?
Even if they intend to implement it faster with more funds, there would be no need for a strech goal. It would be just confusing, as it is for me (and some others).
Even worse, if that is really the case, these two stretch goals (Fishing and Animal Taming) do not even support the KS/project imo, worst case scenario: people are disappointed or losing their hype and do not want to support it (that much) anymore or do not jump in at the first place...If I remember correctly, they stated that stretch goals won't implement core mechanics to the game, but aren't fishing and (especially) animal taiming/animal training core features which change gameplay for a lot of people? For example, for someone who plans to create a business with (tamed) animals/pets.
Or @KingExodus is that why you think they implement it anyway?
Or do I have a false understanding of "core mechanics"?

RE: Kickstarter Update - Stretch Goals Revealed
Great news.
Still do not know what exactly "Fishing" and "Animal Taiming" means. Will it only be implemented if the goals are reached?

RE: Pease help spread the word part II : )
@sunlion nice one!!
If we get the English speaking colleagues to do one as well, we might get funded in no time... -
RE: KS 72% someone bought the highest peaks
Also thinking about leveling up my pledge.
Just to make sure again. Is it true that all backers and/or newcomers after KS can upgrade pledges on your site??
