RE: Daily Message posting
Well this thread has been going on for an impressively long time. Hello again!

RE: Last MMO you played?
I should update now that I started poking around in Secret World again. Later this fall/winter, another update or three I'll hop back into Shroud of the Avatar as well I'm sure.

RE: Songs from games
I noticed @Kapier mentioned Wizards and Warrior 2, but I feel the need to mention the first
. I hear that and immediately know where in the game I am. Serious nostalgia.I also second the mention of HOMM 3. I would add in

If I had to pick the ones that have stuck in my head the longest - definitely DAoC, FFXI, and Rift. I still miss the golden days back when I used to play them.
While I never got huge into FFXI, I'm right there with you on DAoC and Rift being stuck in my head for long periods of time. Particularly DAoC.
Chronicles of Spellborn is another that I have fond memories of.

RE: Daily Message posting
I suppose I should participate, if only to say I've done so!

- Classical card game : 500
- Board game : Carcassonne
- Pen & paper RPG : D&D
- Collective cards game : MTG
When you say D&D, is there a particular version you tend to play? The game has changed quite a bit between each version. I've played each one, and part of the reason I now play Pathfinder is the extreme departure from the 3.5 edition rules. 4th and 5th edition have been fun, but haven't lasted for long-term campaigns with my group the way Pathfinder has.
@teeboned - I also really enjoy Mysterium and Zombicide. Sheriff of Nottingham can be good fun as well. I'll have to check out Mellenium Blades, I've not heard of that before.

RE: Any tabletop gamers?
@frost When you say card games, are you referring to games like Magic: the Gathering and Cards Against Humanity, or more traditional card games such as Poker?

RE: Any tabletop gamers?
I'm not aware of communities, but in terms of online tools... I use D20Pro to allow people to play remotely when we do Pathfinder.
Hero Lab is then used for characters, and it supports a variety of game systems.
I would recommend checking out your local game shops - if they're already hosting MTG tournaments, there's a good chance they also host D&D campaign nights, Warhammer, etc.
Depending on where you're located, boardgame cafes are also slowly becoming a thing.

Any tabletop gamers?
We're all interested in MMOs, since - y'know: we're here. I'm wondering if any of you are also tabletop gamers? Be it tabletop RPGs or board games.
I have a weekly Pathfinder game that I participate in. That group has been gaming almost 10 years now, and we've made our way through a large variety of tabletop RPGs.
I also have a weekly Wine & Boardgames night with some coworkers where games range from Party games like Telestrations After Dark and Cards Against Humanity, to the more nerdy boardgames such as House on Haunted Hill, Zombicide, or Mysterium.
What do you all play?

One addition to the gaming pool: Dauntless. Enjoying the alpha so far. There is still a lot to fix, but a nice addition nonetheless.
I too should now add this to my list of current games, as I'm back to playing it as well.

RE: Suggesteering
EVE currently incorporates live player events into the unfolding lore of it's universe and Chronicles of Elyria has stated they tend to do so as well, so it's certainly not unprecedented. I'm interested in the idea and would definitely do my part to participate should that direction be taken here as well.
I think it would really come down to developing patch-content post launch based on how we play, but it would also be interesting to utilize actions during alpha/beta testing to tweak the story in ways that don't require additional coding or mechanics.

RE: Curious
Things have gone relatively smoothly thus far - I think the real test will be when they begin their crowdfunding campaign and traffic skyrockets. Should be interesting.

RE: I'm just a curious MMO Head
Interesting note regarding Linkrealms. I'm always curious what devs find inspiration in, especially when it's something unexpected (like a past gaming experience they had, rather than a specific game or book, for example).

RE: What about solo players?
Lately (for most of the past decade, that is) I've preferred to either solo my MMOs, or play with a small handful of friends, here and there.
That said, I think I'm ready to pick a game or two and try and be a little more social, and guild-oriented this time around.
In the end I hope the game will support both, but I'll roll with it regardless.

Just got hooked up on NMS.
[...]Curious to know those of you who played, how many hours have any of you lasted on NMS?
I put about 40 hours into No Man's Sky the first time around, and another 2 or 3 at the last patch this past winter. With this new patch, I've logged about 5 hours so far, and intend to continue playing for as long as it holds my attention. It's shaping up to be the game it was intended to be, at this point.

RE: Spying other races
In reality any nation will strive to eliminate as many spies as possible, and consider a world in which no enemy spies exist to be ideal. However, we're talking about a game here, and spying could absolutely enhance gameplay - it adds to the drama of, in your example, the invasion of another planet. This doesn't mean every invasion through the future history of a game will have accurate spy intel, though.
