I'd like to point out that I'm betting most people who say they have no problem with the stress on the hand/wrist/arm using the mouse constantly for movement AND combat are under 50. There is a very large group of people who started playing in the 90s that are now in their 50s and 60s--this group is growing fast while the younger group is shrinking. Do you really want to shut yourself off to this group of players? The younger ones are known for trying games for a short time, then moving on to something else, while the older group tends to stay where they are happy. Common sense tells me that my business model should do what it can to include that group. A toggle is such a minor thing--not even an inconvenience--but it makes a big difference to some people. There is also the handicapped population with sometimes no other avenue for socialization than online social media and games. Found this interesting article on how one developer is meeting the challenge of handicapped players: https://news.microsoft.com/features/gears-5-higher-bar-accessibility-more-people-can-play/?ocid=lock Try thinking outside of the bubble that is your world.

Too much mouse clicking; hello carpal tunnel
Really enjoying the game so far, but I see a return of carpal tunnel if there will be no option for auto attack. I don't mind the click to move, so long as they eventually have an option to toggle gather/attack, but having to click for every hit and every battle involving a LOT of hits is going to be a problem for those with carpal tunnel or arthritis. I love gaming and was excited to see something like Ultima Online, but we're not all created equal physically. I hope these developers will consider some kind of auto attack or key-mapped attack so those with physical limitations can play. I've seen quite a few online games that have an attack key to continue to attack without having to use the mouse button.

RE: Patch Log & Mini-Roadmap - v.a.2.4.0i
All I know is that when I'm in Goblin Hills with a non-partied group, I don't get any loot unless I get first hit.
It can be same group and I will get loot if I get first hit and no loot if one of them does. Even if they get first hit and then focus on another mob. Still won't be any loot though I know I did most of the damage because they were hitting something else. So I'm just going by results I see in game play now. -
RE: Patch Log & Mini-Roadmap - v.a.2.4.0i
With an event that will require cooperation between players that are not necessarily partied, will there still only be loot/reward for first hit? What would be the motivation for coop play if only one person will be rewarded?

Can't "bump" to pick up all wood pieces
Last alpha we could "bump into" wood pieces that were leaning on the stump or in such a way that you couldn't pick them up, and then you could pick them all up. The interactive "bump" with the pieces is no longer working so a lot of wood is going to waste. I just cut a large tree and could only get 6 of 10 pieces. Not only annoying, but such a waste of resources and my time. Thanks!

RE: [FRAC-1864] Can't finish house
@Specter
Thanks for responding Specter! Appreciate your support.
I'll check now and then to see if it's fixed.
Maybe I'll just go exploring and ignore it for a while. -
RE: [FRAC-1864] Can't finish house
@Specter
Oh great! I thought that one would be better after the other experience.
It looked simple. sigh
I give up. How about I just wait until the next update?
It took forever to make the 500g.
Then two houses go buggy and that's a lot of time.
Time is not something I have much of between job and caring for hubby.
So... I'll just look forward to next test and keep the little sanity I have, lol. -
RE: [FRAC-1864] Can't finish house
@Specter Thanks Specter, but I demolished it and started over with a smaller one.
Now I finished a second one and can't place anything in it.
Perhaps I should give up? I've tried a chest and a fireplace and it does nothing when I right-click to place.
Let me know if you can fix this?
Coordinates are -247W 204N. It's right on the property line; maybe that's the problem.
But it shouldn't have let it be placed if it's outside the placeable area, right?
I'm definitely not going to try a third time, lol. -
[FRAC-1864] Can't finish house
Inside door is inaccessible if you finish outside door before inside door. Outside door should open after it is finished so you can go inside to finish inside door. I hope I don't have to demolish the whole house because of one door? This is the 2nd to last house model, 4x4 with porch I think.

RE: Too much mouse clicking; hello carpal tunnel
@Greenfire
Interesting idea Greenfire. I've never played console or used a controller. Not sure how quickly I'd learn at this late date--old dogs can learn new tricks, but it's a LOT harder, lol. I've had to give up games before because of the wrist and now arthritis is added to the mix. The foot peddle thing is something I'll look into. I want to game until the mind or the body quit working, so whatever it takes to keep me in the game. -
RE: Too much mouse clicking; hello carpal tunnel
Thanks Shiv. I've tried several things to relieve the wrist stress--right click mixed with left click, holding down the button, but after an hour or so of play, it just gets too painful. I trained myself to be ambidextrous with the mouse after the last surgery. I use left hand for work and right hand for play (I work on a computer all day). Definitely not going to push it to the point of needing surgery again--no fun! But I do really enjoy the game and look forward to new developments.
