RE: Daily Message posting
Daily post. TMobile is down. Don't know if my brother is dead yet.

RE: Magic Missile Quirks
It would also report something like 'can't see that target' even though other spells cast just fine.

RE: Why this game is not fun
I'm sorry you feel that way.
The game keeps progressing from stress test to stress test. It is still in mid Alpha. It looks like you found the newbie guide - hopefully that helps. My biggest tip is to pick up all the small stones. You can (usually) find trees to shake for branches anywhere. When your red bar gets to about half, make a campfire and rest. You've also got to move! If you're overwhelmed, run away and heal. Get range from the mob so it doesn't damage you.
I played for about 6 hours yesterday. Farmed my 500 gold (skeletons) , found a plot near Heartwood and am about halfway through building my house. The house has been a bit of a pain in the butt because all the stone nodes around are camped by wisps - but it's been fun! Today I plan on finishing my house, and then heading to Heartwood.

RE: Ok, Bought the game after a 2 min video on youtube; was it the right choice?
Brave.
I pledged after reading about the game to increase my Foundation standing. Probably about two days worth.
Convinced the wife as well, so we're in for a couple hundred bucks. I'm very impressed with the communication from the team, and the status of the game in Alpha. Sure, it's slipped, but I don't mind so long as it's communicated why it slipped.
I'd like them to update the timeline, but I'd prefer they keep working.

RE: Cart Duplication during lag spike
I had a similar issue last Alpha, I wasn't able to recreate it.
The cart duplication was persistent - it wasn't a client side issue, as the duplicated cart (and logs) were there following logout and login. I used the duplicated logs. The cart was there for the duration of the Alpha.
Heck, I haven't logged in for this alpha - it might still be there. I'll see in a bit if they wiped.

RE: How in depth is the crafting going to be as far as supplying players with things can it be a proper business?
I can't be bothered to find the sources of my understandings, but it seems to be that the crafting system will provide, not supplement, the progression of your character.
What I mean, is that while there will be a crafting progression to achieve to make "top end gear", this top end gear will be sourced by the crafting systems. There will be drops for items used in the crafting process, but the rarity of such items is low - everyone should have reasonable access to them.
I assume that durability will be the main issue with gear to drive the crafting "economy".
Again, this is just my understanding based off of reading things nine months ago. Gear is not the end-game.

RE: An "Internal" Question to Devs
I haven't been around long enough to see how they got quite so far behind the development roadmap, but from my experience since I've been here they're VERY open about the schedule. They inform us in advance when they're going to miss a target, why they missed a target, and what the plan is going forward.
I would suggest they update the roadmap real quick.

RE: Daily Message posting
I'm running out of things on Netflix. Day 53 of shelter in place.

RE: Myr Cities & Hotspots Map
Have I missed a description of what "fast travel" is going to be like? Is it increased run speed on roads?
I'd like to see (and suggest) an animation for boat travel scaled to the distance. I think I'm remembering World of Warcraft where you could get on a boat, it sailed out, zoned, and sailed in to the ports. They had it where you could walk around, but not a necessity.
The map has a lot more cities than I'd expected. I've got mine picked out.

RE: What's your main gonna be?
I don't know - and I think that's part of the fun.
Typically in these types of games I get started with a crafter or a warrior class to build up currency to get a house - Fractured doesn't have that type of system, so...

RE: Animal Taming/Breeding
Breeding would be something I'd like to see added after release - we'll have to do our best to make the game successful!
The dev team surely has enough on their plate though - I'm really glad they stopped adding stretch goals. You can only do so much to release a game. We're so used to the old method of game development, I think that we as a gaming community ask too much of the kickstarter model.
