What exactly does a carpenter do?

Does it build buildings for me? Couldn't I just do that myself?
Also this game looks really cool and I'm excited to see it happen

@capitalk You can do it yourself for a certain amount of resources, but the carpenter will do everything himself and for free

He does not build a building for you, but instead keeps it in a top condition.
Buildings will deteriorate over time and will require repairs/renovations. Carpenter takes care of that instead of you.
