PK punishment

I hope there is no Pk punishment but, a Pk restrictions will be nice.
    Level distance for example.

    Yeah.

PK does not equal ganking. Ganking is another thing, meaning high levels killing low levels.

PK can be between equal levels. PK is just an ending phase of PvP.

PvP is player conflict, it can end with a player retreating and escaping, 1 player dying due to environment or mob attack, or by one player dying to akill shot by another player (PK).

Ganking and griefing is something else. Even if PvE players often mistakenly equalize PK and gank in terminology.

@cognitive no levels in this game πŸ˜‰ and yes pkers/loters/killers will be "punished" with restrinction and debuffed on Arboreus.

  • TF#1 - WHISPERER

    Agree πŸ™‚
Most of players quit games becouse griefing and unfair ganking.
Avoiding this kind of toxic pvp will give balance to the game.

  • TF#1 - WHISPERER

@Finland yes, but it has to be any way to see what kind of character are you fighting right? Tiers maybe?

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@gothix I talked about that already check the pvp vs pve thread! I'm not only a pver and to be honest I'm not doing pve by over 4 years when I dropped wow. I mostly play fps and moba but in a mmo i don't like to lose things spend time on getting things that could be lost in few mins it's a good way to waste time for me. About the pve communtiy is way larger in every mmo just take a look on numbers. The games without full loot got more players. FFO, WOW, GW2, ESO

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@cognitive gear will not have the same impact as the common games. It's skill based and you have to discover skills. The progress system is discover the 400 skills to make your own build.

I wrote why that is. πŸ™‚

    1. PvE community being more vocal in forums, because PvP players do post in forum as often, specially not in such early phases.
    2. developers cater to people they see in forums (mostly PvE) community, and MMO ends up designed more with PvE in mind
    3. MMO being designed like that, PvP community stays away and plays something else
    4. numbers show more PvE people in MMOs, duh

Situation would be a lot different if MMOs end up designed more inline with PvP community wishes πŸ™‚

I prefer moba/fps/rts for that reason cause you can not steal things. Dunno why in the last 4 years everyone develop sandbox fullloot. Griefers are really bad especially for those who tries out to build a solid guild. I have lost like 500 players in 3 months of Albion due the rage quit.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@gothix lol no! I talk about community in game. I mean effective number of players. You will never see more player in a full loot game than a pve one. For example I really enjoy battlegrounds aka capture the points/flag/escort/arena. But I disΔΊke to go kill gatheres just to steal things.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

I guess it depends how easy it is to get gear back.

I agree that farming gear for 6 months, then loosing it all after one death would be retarded, lol.

BUT, if you can make new gear simply by getting few resources, and easily crafting it in no time, than full loot is not an issue.

  • TF#1 - WHISPERER

@finland yes, i read all this. But it was just a general point of view about pk'ing. hehe, ❀

That would be fair but my last experience was a game with full loot and the leveling progress system was on gear XD. A game where tiers made the difference and extremly grindy to level up and craft that's why everey one was rage quitting. I relly enjoy pvp otherwise I would not play mobas/fps so let's cross our finger for a somekind of balance.

    @Finland

I'd suggest (hope) that professions are the thing that would need leveling up. To level up the profession you would need time, and gathering, which would require traveling to other planets and PvP-ing (or economy).

In this time you would be loosing gear, but you would always be able to easily craft new one, by getting some resources and crafting it. And you would craft such gear as how much your profession is progressed.

So you would always be crafting cca same gear like the gear you lost.

Killing someone and getting his gear and resources as loot, would help you with progressing your professions faster (and perhaps knowledge). So PvP and full loot would make sense, and in same time not be a horrible thing.

Albion Online system its nice about this thing

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@gothix well well se how much time we'll need to craft top tiers if there will be any kind of tiers. 10mins of gathering could be a good compromise.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@cognitive I totally disagree Albion Online it's infinite grindy. Takes too much time to gather requires too much resources. I totally hated the progression system of that game XD.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

I guess it will be smart to stockpile on resources, so when you do lose the gear you do not have to go gather naked (or pray that they are available on AH and at fair price), but rather just go to your storage and craft new.

Also would be nice to be able to destroy existing gear back to core resources (with some loss of course).

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@gothix I would like to fight naked (that it's clear I'm not an exhibitionist).

In Albion I was doing so but I would avoid to log few days just to gather resources. I usually get bored after 30 mins so gather for 6 hours every day for few days it's annoying to me. Especially if you lose 6 hours of grind cause of a gank.

I guess it's fun if you play with a guild, and mix and match PvP with gathering.

Also should not gather 6 hour straight because of danger of loosing it all, but occasionally travel back to city to put what you gathered thus far to storage. πŸ™‚
