I have seen the guild option what will be the advantage of joining one or creating your own?

@RossGimblett Hello and welcome aboard. for now guilds just grant foundation points. once the game is finished the benefit of guilds will be manifold. Choose wisely.

Welcome @RossGimblett ! When I saw your question, I thought it would be a simple matter of finding the post 'everything we know so far' and reposting the 'Guild' section. But I couldn't see a guild section
I checked the Wiki for a description of guild perks/mechanics, but I couldn't see a description of those things.
CONGRATS on giving those wiki-artists and the awesome d00d who keeps that 'everything we know so far' post updated something fun to do! I'll look forward to learning all about Guilds soon
Meanwhile, one thing I do know is that there are guild towns and 'free' towns. In Guild towns, the guilds make the rules and the leader of the guild is the Governor of the town. In 'free' towns, the Governor is elected by the residents and there is a more complex rule-making system.
So there's at least one bonus of starting a guild: the possibility of tailoring a town to suit yourself and your guildmates.
