Hi @TianlanSha, our current UI as a whole is pretty much a placeholder (like our current player animations), as typical for games in alpha. We decided to use that asset because it had all the basic functionalities we needed - we could have made them all ourselves, but why spending precious hours of work on something that is placeholder anyway?
@Razvan said in Is this game using these Unity Asset Store assets and why?:
On the other hand, when it comes to assets (the ones that will be in the release), you want a homogenous graphics style, which is kind of hard to achieve by gluing together cheap assets from unity store.
Definitely, that is why all our 3D assets and textures are made internally aside from a couple exceptions - such as basic animals because well, a rabbit is a rabbit as @Xzoviac mentioned
Games that are assembled with random store assets are indeed terrible to look at.
