If we do, it won't be good gear. It won't hold a candle to what we can craft or find. Otherwise, why bother doing that?

Think of it this way. 18 versus 17 is a difference of 5%.

Right, which is why I said the guy who claimed we are viable from the instant we start is wrong. Gear increases stats and you have to buy/make/find it first.

I wish they would keep Foundation until the game releases.

In fractured, the player is viable from the get go.

That would only be true if armor didn't give stats. But they do. So starting out you will have crappy stats until you get good gear.
