I think this is an issue that will automatically resolve itself as more content is added to the game, like mounts to speed travel times or player shops to resupply on your journey.

@Anthrage TSE will be having a public version out soon, though doubtful it will be in time for the End of the Year event, it should be ready by the Winter PvP test though.

That was reported in [FRAC-1972] and assigned for fixing.
