Builds that use the wood shields

So far I haven't been able to find any good builds that use the wood shields. Are they a bit anemic or are there good uses for them?

Round shields are the only ones with Spell Channeling (so that's a reason for one).
Otherwise, I'm not sure that wood competes well against metal as a resource for shields. Maybe this should be looked at.

@SilverCorsair You can sort of go with the old school feeling druidcraft build with scimitar and round shield. Throw some healing high Wis, Con, and Str. You can pair the round shield with any one hand spell channel weapon for extra protection by changing Wis for Int or Dex. I haven't tested all of the combos though.

Wooden shields have plenty of uses. At the moment I would say that they are used more than metal ones.
