@Dman1188 The game definitely has a learning curve.
Don't be in too big of a hurry to get a horse or a house.
Run around and gather (everything you find has use) and get familiar with the basics.Check out the market in a player run town, find out what sells or what orders exist and fill some of those to raise gold. I made most of my money just selling hides/leather or other things I found.
Start with green ?s on the map and check out those locations. They earn you experience points to gain rank - in this game exploration, gathering, killing new monsters to 100% is worthwhile. Even a fox drops a tail now and again that can get you a few hundred gold in the market.
