I think it would be interesting to add the study of fallen foes to the game! Study various corpses, whether you killed it or someone else did, and discover secret weaknesses or gain some sort of expertise against that specific monster type over time. Perhaps even using specific crafted tools and instruments in order to examine certain creature types

Brown Bear
Tools required = Knife, Specimen jar (I am not a professional here and do not know exactly what would be needed)
Autopsy preformed for 10 Brown bear corpse = weak point discovery (+1% damage to attacks against)
