We can of course agree to disagree. Sometimes, it is the limits in a system that give the most encouragement to creativity and adventure. Remember, playing within the rules is harder and more satisfying than just breaking them.

I personally don't think that applies to this as it's hindering player creativity and nothing else is in it's place.

@GMLordSkykal said in Races restricting freedom of play.:

I forward your feedback, but as stated by GamerSeuss, this is the intendet core mechanic (Three Races, all with their own world and mechanic, problems and possibilities).

Good to hear and I have no idea how feedback works on if we will actually hear back such as a simple "no" but I look forward to seeing what happens as this along with a few other things will dictate if I play/buy the game outside of the free weekends to see progress. I know no one really cares if I personally play but I think it's useful information to be known on what pulls and pushes people away from certain projects.

And the one thing (so far) that Seuess and I do agree on is not every game is for everyone and thus far it seems like this game will not be for me.

Not sure why LordSkykal deleted the reply but hopefully another one happens or something gets done? What is going on over there.

Yes, but that does not change anything really. Esp if they are planning on people playing many characters because the lack of being able to play between the races. So the need for more characters to do more opens up that much more.

    • RE: Why we need attribute respec options.

I think Nekrage (the op) explained it best and seemingly has way more knowledge than I do. It needs to be something else in-game that is told to people on if it is in and how it works. I personally don't think it should be a super rare thing then you have people that just get left out of everything and may not have time to remake a character just to hopefully not mess it up. That's poor design and accessibility. Even Blizzard learned this

I assume there will be something and hopefully it's just not needlessly hindering and/or something only pvp people can get.

    • RE: VIP Benefits (knowledge bonus)

I once again don't agree and I think this is a reach and stretch to be okay with the system. Much like saying your biggest strength is actually a weakness, I don't buy it.

But hey it's either to small of a bonus to really matter or to big of a one that is an issue. I really don't think there is an inbetween. Is the bonus where you need to kill 5 less of an enemy to get the full knowledge to learn the skill? 10,000 enemies less to get all the KP you need? Who knows! But it's suspect and a perceived issue on what is currently known.

@GamerSeuss on this one I'll chalk it up to Im probably missing something (but everyone else here is as well ?) So maybe someone should write up a how none of this is p2w and better explain how it works .

    • RE: Why we need attribute respec options.

@GamerSeuss Attributes affect skills/spells so if you find an ability that goes with your build but your low on dex or something so the spell does nothing then it will be worse. It will be p2w in pvp esp but p2w also applies to pve just the same.

If you are hindered by a system that can make you weaker without spending money....thats p2w.

Either way just like the last suggestion this is clearly a thing people will debate but I see no room for movement on this one. Just another core thing that needs to be solid for me and others to buy the game.

I fully agree they needs ways to make money to keep making the game but hindering players and pulling an EA/Activision is not one of them.

I would rather spend 15+$ a month to play then have all these "bonuses".

    • RE: Why we need attribute respec options.

If there is only one way to respec and it's a paid option...that is p2w.

Spec changes any time something new is added or tweaked It changes when new unknown abilities are found. If a "free" player (remember this game is paid for) cannot respec then they are at a huge disadvantage in pve and pvp.

    • RE: Why we need attribute respec options.

No need to make a new topic about this as there has already been a lot of discussion on it.

I also think/know that players should be able to respec in the game without VIP/Cash shop. Make it where people can respec once a week and/or make it in in-game gold money sink (within reason). But if it's only a cash shop option then that is going into the extreme that shouldn't be in games.

    • VIP Benefits (knowledge bonus)

VIP should not give a knowledge bonus. It's basically a way to help skip a grind that the devs put in the game. So it's a pay to ignore something made. As this is going to be a pve/pvp game there should be no paid advantaged in either.
