The PvE vs PvP Thread

Are there safe zones from pvp on. Syndesia too ?

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@ioracle nope but it's a lawfull planet. Killers/assassin/bandits will be punished somehow.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@finland Killers/assassin/bandits that break the law will be punished somehow.

There - fixed it for you 😉

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@tulukaruk I'm pretty sure that mine is correct 😉

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

But then will there be some sort of police force to punish lawbreakers

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@ioracle gankers/griefers you mean? I think to oganize events for my guild like on AO to punish pkers :).. Justicee

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

But can PVP be entirely avoided? Ganking, griefing or otherwise unavoidable PVP is a surefire way to get me to avoid a game like the plague.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@jackbinimbul only on Arboreus safe area! The other area of arboreus are somekind not so risky. If you want go on Syndesia and Tartaros you can not avoid PvP. But you will get end game safe area on Arboreus. That's what said.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@jackbinimbul completely avoided - no. Reasonably safe - yes. It is a game with open world PvP. But if you read the latest spotlight there should be fun to play part without much danger from PvPers.

  • TF#4 - EMISSARY

I never understood why the PvE/PvP discussion brings out the worst in a lot of people - especially the PvP fraction can be very rude not accepting a more relaxed playstyle that you have in PvE.
"Carebear", "not a game for you, go to Farmville" ist fast to fire off, but I never read a good argumentation while griefing would really be something that moves a game on...

  • TF#4 - EMISSARY

And to make that argument more clear: The Griefer fraction is always crying the loudest, but maybe developers might think twice to only hear them and ignore the more silent masses - that will just leave after being ganged twenty times in a row...

Yeah I'm fighting them by 2 months. I really would like to see a game for both sides. PvP is funny but I hate when it goes to gathers/merchants killing spree (just to stole things) or corpe/graveyard camping.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

    @sebastian

actually it'll be the 'carebears' that cry the loudest when the game is launched (alpha or live state) because they're forced to do something they don't want to do. The PvPers just want challenging combat, something AI can't do just yet.

First nerf will be the boost Arb gets when an invasion happens and the penalty demons get when invading. Then the duration will be reduced from 30 minutes to 20 to 15.

You can look at the events that happened in Albion Online to see how the pve'ers cry the loudest.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@jetah pvers cry? It's silly told by a griefer. Pvers wants pve not pvp so that's not a way to cry but a way to get something for that playstyle. PvPers shoud play vs PvPers. The best choice is always the same: 2 server (1 pve - 1 pvp). Pvper will never be happy neither with that solution due the lacking of players, and I lol at that. That's why usually pve servers are more populated than pvp. If Arboreus will be safe enough carebears will play and will not argue. I'll help much as possible to make it happen.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong. The guys that want challenging combat wants arena or something like that. People that want open world PvP want easy kills from unprepared players or zerg kills on single players. At least that's my experience.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@tulukaruk never thought of that. I know Albion Online didn’t have arenas and most of open world PvP was hit hard because of the cries of the PvE. But finland can tell it better.

Do you think PvP in an open world content would cry for arenas?

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@jetah said in The PvE vs PvP Thread:

Albion online got arenas tho XD but there does not exists a MMR or somekind of MM. You should stop telling that PvErs cying out when they say that there is nothign suitable for hem. AO is totally anti PvE. Open dungeons in an open PvP world with full loot is not PvE. People should fix that in their mind. PvE = Players vs Mobs only and not mixed! If mixed is PvP.

I still not understand why PvPer does not want give content to PvErs. It's easy give places for pvpers where do pvp and give safe spots to pvers where do pve. if any pver want to do pvp can just move to pvp zones and vice versa. Mixed things are just PvP.

Do you think PvP in an open world content would cry for arenas?

Arenas are skill based. Battlegrounds (aka captuore the flag/ escort payloads/ controll points and so on) are skill based. Open world pvp is just numbers and spam. The biggest group will win! Open world pking/ganking is just cowardice especially when the target is someone that's gathering/trnasporting resources or killing mobs.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

Basically, as long as there are zones where PvP is not restricted, and those zones offer some rewards for going there (risk vs reward) I'm fine with some other zones being "safe".

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

@gothix you have 2 planets without access restrinctions and one planet with some safe areas. Restrinction are based on alignment. Bad actions will be punished for more info take a look here.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

@finland Thanks for the link. Interesting read. 🙂

So basically debuffs and limitations aren't based on an actual kills, but on your alignment combined with an area you are travelling through.

Also if I read right PvP between good aligned beastman and evil aligned demon on a human planet should be balanced, unless guild that is controlling certain area shifts the rules in some direction.
